This is too polished stuff (good nonetheless), but it marks a terribly downward shift from Punk to softpop-cum-reggae stuff. Yes it is dub too, but they went too far down (strictly in my view) from being hard core punk to bring out something like this. I am sure Sex Pistols would have disowned them - but it also has indications of pressure on them by an established label they chose to work with - CBS.

I had the 12" vinyl of this when it came out. I also had a very discourteous downstairs neighbor who liked to play his music too loud. I put this on the turntable, placed the speakers face down on the floor, and set volume to Max. Funny, I never heard another peep out of him.

Totally agree ♡ they were... a little chaotic live ... but the vibe was amazing.... saw them ×2 in Glasgow, London Calling tour , got in free, guest list... Stan Stammers, Theatre of Hate told me a couple of months prior to the Clash gig , he'd get me on the list because I helped the tiny road crew TOH and... The Meteors (!) get a cheap " hotel " in town.... and at the gig , dunno who it was... full Rasta dude ... selling ☆ AUGUSTUS PABLO ☆ original rockers, vinyl L.p. for about £2.50 .... really blew a good few minds... ♡ positively ♡ God bless the Clash for bringing many of us out of slavery
