Ted tells it like it is. The complacency in the market is extremely dangerous. Sooner than later, hedge funds and large institutional investors will sell and take profits. I believe we are very close to that point.

Complacency, a current investment behavior Ted rightly calls attention to, ultimately manifests as financial pain. Ted's mention of this can be best summed up with a saying I learned in my military service- a word to the wise is sufficient.

They should have kept their foot on the neck of inflation and pushed the economy into a strong recession to bring prices way, way down, then engineer a rebuilding process in a zero to 1% inflation environment. I don't believe this massive problem that the government has created can be gotten out of without a lot of pain, but the rich, the ones that run things, don't want that. They don't want their massive wealth to go down in a system they largely control. I don't think lowering rates to stimulate growth will work in the long run because of increasing inflation. Its two things working against each other. The consumer won't be able to sustain an environment like that with the government making inflation worse by flooding more money into the economy to keep the consumer spending. Employers won't keep giving their employees more money to keep up. Its a mess! Danged if you do and danged if you don't. Eventually the market, and/or the dollar tanks worse than ever and even the things you buy to hedge against higher inflation go down because the market to buy them dries up, especially if its a global setback. Best situation I think is to own Treasuries with the bulk of your money and use a smaller % of resources to extract cash out of a few rising companies or ETFs with meticulous swing trading. When the market tanks even gold and gold securities will go down when the bottom really falls out. After that happens then sell Treasuries and buy the best companies and ETFs, and maybe even gold, at the lowest prices.

Ted, always provides a pragmatic view. Too start reversing or hold the debt level, maybe we need to stop electing incumbents?
