I bought them as E marked. No matter how low you aim them you'll still get flashed by oncoming drivers. I fitted a cheap generic PWM dimmer in the end which works fine (no flickering) although reduces the output.

Nice video. I am considering these for the Triumph Scrambler 400X. Early bacon runs need more illumination.

Great video and channel. I have a couple of bike including a Himmi 450. The oxford lights are brilliant, cars can't get out of the way quick enough! With regards to fitting extra electrical bits and bobs, a lot of folk now seem to use a healtech thunderbox, which you fit to the battery, and all the extra wires from extra things plug simply into the connectors that eminate from the thunderbox itself. it eliminates the need to splice wires in to the loom of the bike. (i have no affiliation with the company by the way), I found it easy to set up and use). Regards, Chris.

I have had a set of similar lights still in the box since May. Winter's on its way, even here in the S of France, so I'd better get them fitted!! Well done with all the wiring AND with picking the bike up! (Mirror, 7 years bad luck!!! 😱 )

Nice video and well done for getting it all sorted. I don't like faffing with electricals and its always nervy turning on for the 1st time! I also have the thunderbox fitted to my scram to save splicing wires. Shame about the drop. I'd be livid! Well done for taking in your stride!

@ricksroyalrides123 thankyou !! I absolutely cursed when I dropped it, such a stupid mistake! I'll definitely be investing in a thunderbox soon 😊

I thought you would know that the usb was there its surprising how many people don't because as you know it is quit awkward to get too. Yes agree so annoying when we splash out and have to spend time making what ever it is fit. Great Vids👌

Looking good. Pre-made wiring kits are always just a bit short or so long that you could go around the bike twice. I just bought the lights and made my own loom. Bit more effort but everything is the right length. I've fitted so much stuff to my 411, I replaced the headlight and indicators with LED to lighten the load on the poor thing. I put 5W LED daylight running lights (DRL) where you put yours, they are on all the time. I've had comments that I was still visible in a clouds of dust in the Australian outback. 10W LED driving lights are mounted on each side of the screen. I like its an easy bike to fit electric farkles to. No CAN BUS to worry about unlike my GS when I had it.

Considering this kits is designed for the 'adventure' bikes im surprised the switch lead is so short, Oxford slipped up there, and as a result im going elsewhere to get my LED's

If the lights are spots the need to be aligned like the headlamp is also the switch will need to be on the bars to pass the MOT. I fitted the Oxford daylight lights no wiring loom 30mins to fit and very eye catching. £40

Just found your channel and its a good watch. Nice lamps and look good on your Himmy. Shame the wires in the kit weren't long enough, I would have just soldered an extra few inches of wire to get to the battery. I think mounting the switch where you have could potentially cause future problems as its totally open to rain and road crap where you have put it? I've subbed to see what else you get up to . 👍
@yawningcat
@yawningcat 2 ай бұрын
@@spotty_cat26 thanks for the lovely comments 😊 luckily the switch that comes with the lights is completely potted and weather sealed, not much difference to mounting it on the handlebars really, if anything it’s nicely tucked out of the way on the back of the crash bars. It’s quite frustrating the wire harness is so short, they do sell an extension kit for another £15 so it’s almost like they know it comes up short. Thanks for watching 😊

@keepitreal1547 thanks for the lovely comments 😊 I still may change the location of the lights as I'm concerned that they're a bit high 😁 and I will definitely continue riding throughout the winter along side other projects in the pipeline 😊 Thanks for watching.

Hi i just stumbled upon your video and enjoyed it very much sorry you dropped there bike and like you say it happens to us all at times. I have the same colour i think it looks great and in the year of ownership i haven't come across another in this colour on the road only seen them in the dealerships. Back to your video if you were only 3 inches short could you not have extended the ends to reach the battery to save you re doing the whole lot? Having said that handlebars can look cluttered with all these add ons so putting the switch where you did was a good idea. Did you know that there is already a USB socket fitted to the Euro 5 Himalayans even my dealership did not realise this i just found mine by accident its in a very cramped position under the clutch lever with a little hinged flap over it. Good luck with the bar replacement i will subscribe to watch this as i fancy upgrading mine because as you now know they are very weak👍

Thanks for watching 😊 yes I could have extended the wiring, it’s just pretty annoying when the kit is around £200 and I’ve expected it to have a bit more length for the cost. Yes thanks for the tip on the USB, I already use mine for my garmin so I wanted to add additional to charge my phone etc on longer trips 😊
