Oxford are amazing for almost everything motorcycle, excellent product management, I go-too Oxford like I go to Aldi, it's cheaper and also at least as good or better than more expensive brands. I have these Oxford jeans and the armour is nicely high tech, if you hold it in your hand it drops slowly around the contours fascinatingly, not the bulky plastic/rubber wads in other medium priced clothing.

Decent vid liked how you showed how you sit on the bike with them on but would really like a viewed of how they look on you stood in front of the camera not down from your own line of sight

Yeah honestly fantastic. I wear them all the time. Have even come off in the once at slow speed and they really helped me out. They are expensive but certainly good quality and worth the money. That being said, there are plenty of other options so figure out what kind of protection and style you want then go from there

Did they come with the knee and hip protectors (like as shown at 1:24) ? There seems to be no mention on these being included on NZ web sites. Edit: bits4bikes mentions them. Other sites, with briefer descriptions, don't. All just a bit confusing and frustrating.

Mine did. I bought them at a store. I'd recommend calling the place you intend to purchase from and ask about the pads. My assumption is that all pairs come with the pads as it would be an incomplete product without them but still worth calling ahead if you have concerns

Don't buy from Amazon. Too many fakes.

The only downside, like many and especially the single layer ones, they are only guaranteed to a ridiculously low speed. These are only 70kmh. So only just over 40mph. Personally I wouldn’t risk it. The double layer ones are always slightly better.

Yeah, that is definitely a consideration. Although, I had some Rokkertek single layer jeans, had an off at around 60 and they were fine and more importantly, so was I. Obviously, I can't say if these would do the same at that speed. Thanks for the comment.

@altypeRR - not true. just because something is double layer, doesnt necessarily make it safer. many kevlar lined jeans/pants are only CE 'A' rated - that means they are only tested "abrasion resistant" sliding at 45kph. these oxford armourlite jeans are "AA" rated, which is higher, tested for abrasion resistance sliding at 70kph. huge differences between brands which CE test they actually pass (theres 4 levels). the brands that only pass level B or A dont advertise it funnily enough. "AAA" level is for leather race suits (thats 120kph test. but you wear those riding at double that). remember the CE rating is not based on the speed you can ride in the jeans at, its based on the sustained speed of the slide after you crash. watch superbike riders with large tarseal runoff areas at tracks - they crash at 160kph coming into a corner, but they not still sliding on thier bums at 160kph 6 or 7 seconds later.... friction causes them to slow very quickly within 1 or 2 seconds (to below 70pkh I daresay...). coming off a roadbike at far lower speeds it's highly unlikely youd be able to slide any significant distance at more than 70kph

Very true, but I think I'd be more inclined to go for the Bull-It range of jeans. They don't come with armour but are AAA rated (120kph) and for £100 I'd rather have those and spend a bit extra on the protectors. There's a wider choice of styles as well
