the thing with people throwing Iraq war at Alastair is, if you have fundamental problem with him on this, do no engage with him on principle. Do not sit with him and talk about different topics, and when you are losing, throw Iraq at him as a cop out. If he is a war criminal in your eyes, it should be a huge deal. Not a footnote to be used as a debate point.

I hope that's a joke? Or you're a conservative socialist? This guy is absolutely embedded in capitalist ideals... New Labour was a successful marketing campaign, nothing more. And this piece of shit played a huge role in all of that. You're wanting victory at any price again. X

New labour gave us the change that paved the way for Cameron, May, and the type of politics we are suffering today, it was new labour and the Tory version of it that turned so many people towards right wing bigotry, or away from politics altogether, the politics of no choice, no ideas and neoliberal stagnation.

3:53 You basically have to wait for the governing party to mess up and out-stay their welcome, thus people don't go out to vote as much, or the vote gets split, or people just tactical vote to get the other party out and you win. EDIT: This has been the case since 1979, with Labour only 'winning' the recent 2024 election because people were bored with the Conservatives and their traditional vote got split and allowed Labour to squeak through, despite a lot of people not really believing in Starmer and not huge increase in seat votes.

Interesting to see this 12 months later in the light of political change both in the US and domestically. An increasingly isolated UK government with nowhere to turn being hung by its own petard and massive and sustainable changes within Labour whose return to socialist policies are popular, viable, costed and which resonate with so many crying out for change to end the cycle of punishing austerity and corruption.
