Okay, but there is absolutely a reading of this where Katie is just socially awkward and says some odd stuff that the Oxventurers misread as poisoning threats, but was genuinely in love with Dob, and turns out he was the villain all along. Like yeah, it was heavily implied that she was poisoning him, but maybe Dob was just allergic to gluten or something. He did hand her a long list of allergies... Either way, I think it was best that the union didn't go ahead. They were on different paths, and I hope one day Katie and Dob can find real love. Or possibly just cry into some ice cream for a bit and get on with their lives...
