No more nervous explanation of where the group is and a quick apology that the kingdom's name sounds silly because Johnny panicked, no more hurried introductions or retconned worldbuilding. My first dnd character became more like me as time has gone on ( I still play him in a general rp sense) but was basically Lupin The Third meets Nightcrawler , played them as a snickering rakish lothario (was a 3.5 Tiefling Hexblade, back when Hexblade was it's own class) who was more of a wish fulfilment as someone who wasn't successful with women or very self confident , it's been 20 years and he retains elements of this but I try to play him more suave and he has more interests in occultism and my general beliefs and views.

@@oxventure My plans to watch live have been foiled by my job! I’ll be at work for the first hour of the premiere. I have a few questions if you don’t mind so I can plan out how I can watch as much live as possible! 1. Is every episode so far planned to air on Fridays always at the same time as this premiere? If so I’ll always miss the first hour :( but eventually I might be able to change my work schedule or request a day off here or there for any specials hehe 2. About how long would you estimate each episode to be? If I miss the first hour, about how many hours/minutes would I still be able to watch live before the episode broadcast ends? I imagine each episode varies a bit and I’m not sure how many episodes you’ve had edited yet so maybe you don’t know, but any ballpark estimation would be helpful 3. Will there be closed captions during the live airing of episodes? My job sometimes will allow me to watch and read captions of something, but it would have to be muted. So I’m wondering if I would be able to watch live and understand what’s being said even if I turn the sound off. Still super excited and I’ll be watching whatever I miss immediately once it becomes a public video, but I’ve never seen oxventure episodes as they air and I’d love to be able to do that as much as possible and be in the chat hanging out with everyone whenever I can. Immensely excited and I hope to be in chat as much as possible!! See u soon :)

A luck pervert with bondage spells! Straying into Voldo territory here. A brilliant start to a truly engaging story ❤❤❤

I really like how Andy is playing Robin Oatcake, especially at around 54:18. Simple, kind, curious, and quietly brave. Cress IS nice in a sandwich.

Johnny: I've never had people cheer a player taking 15 points of damage... Yeah, as Mike levels up and gets more equipment, that number can go down. I loved when I was playing during one of the sessions I was a part of and standing in a point blank Young Red Dragon breath attack only to take 6 points of fire damage, roar in the dragon's face, and behead it in one swing

I loved this so much. I love all of you. I'm so excited to spend more time with you, and I promise to do better at keeping up with the episodes. Thank you Johnny and thank you Oxventurers.

I was a bit worried about the folk horror setting overpowering the usual Oxventure kind of humour, but this blend works really well:) Can't wait to see more!

I really like the setting it for some reason is putting me in mind of post roman Britain. With magic obviously.

My word, that's an intense start to the campaign. Episode one and we have eyeballs on a stick as punishment for racism, being literally turned inside-out as punishment for hubris, and one of the characters already dying* to friendly fire. Love the atmosphere of teams of adventurers heading out into the wild, being in contact only with the neighbouring teams. I expect messages of "This is Team Southwest, we are surrounded, we need supp..." followed by stone-radio silence.

I know in my head that Robin isn't going to be a mundane, chauncey-esque character, but in my heart of hearts I hope he truly has no secret and that what you see is what you get with him.

When his stats came up I was shocked that he actually has the stats of a commoner, complete with only 4 hit points.

So, first he made a low-wisdom, careless Paladin who preferred explosives over smiting. Then it was a cowboy with a phobia of horses And an alcoholic noble who's primary skills were: partying, getting people drunk, and losing his coat. Now it's the passive-aggressive Barbarian. So I think we've narrowed down the definition of "doing a Mike" as "building a counter-intuitive character and having fun with the resulting chaos."

To briefly be sentimental: the original oxventurers guild campaign ran during a... testing period in my life, to put it vaguely enough to remain private, and now this new campaign has come just at the perfect time as a new period in my life starts. It looks incredible and I can't wait.

I’m so excited for this saga. Fun fact: I was struggling with my first play through of BG3 as a monk and asked myself, “what would Merilwyn do?” I started a new play through as a Druid and was OP as heck. Can’t wait to see what inspiration (double entendres intended) I get from this one!

As someone who began with D & D back in 1979 with my buds in High School, I can not tell you how much joy I'm having watching this ! Brings back such fond memories of High School and College. And the humor ! Monty Python levels at time ! Well done, gang ! You have a fan and a subscriber !

I love Normal Man Robin. Character quirks and mechanics notwithstanding, I just love how his instincts are to respond exactly how a (helpful) non combatant would respond to dnd situations

This episode was an absolute revelation, I've been watching for years hoping for a deep, dramatic story experience from Oxventure, Deadlands got me most of the way and this feels like an expansion of the dramatic storytelling of that campaign! Every NPC and player character was absolutely brilliant and this story and world is deeply interesting from the outset. This might be one of my favourite D&D settings just off the bat, every since sentence from Johnny's narration feels like it carries a weight, the worldbuilding is on par with some of my favourites in the whole D&D subgenre, I haven't been this excited for a new campaign in years.

My word. This was something and a bit. Johnny seemed to be channeling their inner Matt Mercer, which I'm a big fan of. A lot more drama than the original campaign tales, though I'm still here for all the usual amount of puns, jokes and shenanigans. And Ellen being evil?! I can't wait for next week
