I really, really hope now that Prudence has used Spiderclimb on Egbert that she'll also use it on Merilwen when she's transformed into a bear or octopus. Imagining

Because not everyone plays WoW, purple refers to 'epic' quality enchanted items, whereas green is 'uncommon' quality. Since people keep correcting me: Grey = Poor White = Common Green = Uncommon Blue = Rare Purple = Epic Gold = Legendary/Artifact
@jaomang Жыл бұрын
White is standard quality, Green is uncommon quality.

@@jaomang I said standard, as in standard enchantment quality. But I fixed it.

White = common Green = uncommon Blue = rare Purple = legendary Gold/yellow = exotic At least, that's for sure how it goes in Destiny, and a lot of others use something similar.

Was this whole adventure just a flex on Merilwen that Moonbeam isn't special and anyone can do it?

Funnily enough, only one class an another subclass has access to moonbean, it's actually not common at all compared to stuff like fireball

I'm not completely caught up on the more recent episodes, but it really bothers me that Prudence never got her promised spell. During the start of the next season someone asked her what it was and Jane's answer was the one she picked while leveling. I keep hoping they'll notice it now I'm working on getting caught up but I'm losing hope. They didn't even mention it in the podcast episode, sadly.

They mentioned it in the level up video it was her banish spell

@@seanalbert banishment is a warlock spell though. It sounded like that was the spell she chose on leveling, and her reward was supposed to be a spell from outside her class.

@Timewyrm revelations They could've evolved along the arc they were already on. They didn't have to change what kind of game they were playing.

@@JervisGermane An overpowered group that charms and one shots their big boss battles all the time isn't very entertaining in the long run. There's a reason you don't see Darth Vader crushing and folding entire fleets of star ships with just one hand in movies/TV shows/games. As awesome as it would be, it would eventually lose it's appeal and become expected. Also if you don't challenge your players, they too get bored of whatever they are doing and move on to play other things. You have to have balance to keep things interesting for the party, the dungeon/game master, and most importantly, the audience.
@JervisGermane Жыл бұрын
@@macgyver42563 Depends on the audience. I really enjoyed the first 3 years, certain episodes aside. I still listen to them all in order on a regular basis, but I don't listen to any past this one anymore. I don't actually play D&D; I started watching to learn something about it because I was building a TTRPG of my own and wanted to get some ideas. Now, I did go to my LGS and play a couple of sessions first, and I hated it. I really don't like the premise of a fantasy world where I'm extra special and have magical powers but have to spend 45 minutes taking a nap and crossing a bridge because I can fail at both of those. The Oxventure started out as a fixed version of that, where the characters could actually do cool stuff instead of just playing with dice while endlessly planning stuff. I understand that IS what a lot of players like about the game, and there are already a ton of D&D videos out there where they take the game seriously and everyone plans and plays with their dice all the time. What I liked about the Oxventure is that it was different. (And Jane Douglas is in it - let's acknowledge all my own biases) The Orbpocalypse saga kicked off with them having to do stuff where I couldn't suspend my disbelief anymore because they were meant to be impossible but the characters were having to do them without most of their magic. I thought maybe I could get used to that. But then it ended with an entire session of planning, and a fight between Liliana's army and a dragon happening off-screen without any involvement from our friends. I said that was going to be the end for me, but then I watched 3-4 episodes after that to see if it got any better, and it didn't. It used to be a collaborative storytelling exercise where I liked watching the characters solve puzzles and then one-shot the big boss of the week, not because I wasn't sure they would but because I wanted to see how they would reach the foregone conclusion. Now it's a chaotic mess where Johnny either has to hand-hold them through the puzzles or skip the narrative entirely to get to the set piece he has written. It used to feel like improv; now it feels like a scripted reality show. Now, I understand if there's more of an audience for scripted reality shows, I know it's too much to expect the masses to want better than that, and it's just smart business for them to do what has mass appeal instead of appealing to a couple of very passionate fans, but as one of those passionate fans, what am I supposed to do now? My show's gone; it's been turned into something I don't want to watch anymore. And there's no one else out there producing anything else like it. They're all turning out more of what my show turned into. My love of Jane's cheekbones isn't enough to overpower my loathing of the new show style.

I feel like they have struck a good balance between the narrative driven stories, and the chaotic feel of the original episodes with the one shots they do.
