Daniel Davoodnia Well I guess we have to experiment with trying to get us to breathe something else? Perhaps a more stable gas? No idea how tho. Maybe that would be an interestic topic. Would it be possible to make us breathe and live of another (more stable) type of gas?

As a proud vegan feminist, I can safely say that this is my third year off oxygen and I couldn't have felt better. This dangerous gas was killing me from the inside out, I could feel it in my arms to my legs. I'm now residing in the Pacific Ocean where I speak to Dolphins, diving down to the underwater volcanoes to satisfy my thirst for vital minerals and Methane, which I now respire on. We must convince the majority to make the change now. The sea dwellers are planning an all out attack soon and we must prepare

+Captainfunnyhead just letting both of u know... H2O is two H atoms and 1 oxygen atom, in order to break this molecule into h2(gas) and O2 (gas) u require a serious amount of energy (electrolysis) which doesn't appear in any organic respiratory system. The oxygen that life underwater (eg fish) breathe on is dissolved oxygen that is either produced through photosynthesis of phytoplankton or mixed into the water through any form of agitation, the fish are able to separate this molecule from the water using somewhat like a filtration technique which resides in their gills, the above comment was a joke, not to said seriously

So much to the "finely tuned" universe theists have been throwing around. We have such a fragile existence that in just one spectacular event we could end up like the other 99% species who have gone extinct, heck even our own "special home" is killing us slowly. We are just lucky that we are still able to survive as a species right now.

How do you know that's not by design?
@reichfuhrer1942
@reichfuhrer1942 10 жыл бұрын
How do you know that it is designed? I will concede to the fact that I will never know whether it was designed or not. But if you think logically and if you look at the evidence around you, it is very likely that there is no such thing as design and there is no such thing as God whatsoever. It is most logical to assume that everything happened by chance. But lets say it was designed... so you will still follow a God that is supposed to be "all loving and merciful" and yet creates a world and an existence so harsh for his "beloved" creations and will punish them for eternity for a finite transgression? Its really obvious that God was just one of our civilization's early methods of keeping order and control to the masses back when everything was still very rudimentary.

Sid Burn *shrugs* Logic is not the be all and end all of the universe. And such limited beings as ourselves can hardly understand all the complexity of such things. To truly understand we would need to be a lifeform much greater and more capable of holding an unlimited amount of knowledge. Perhaps something that might be likened unto a deity by more primitive beings. Seeing as we are incapable of even conceiving of the idea of eternity without becoming dizzy we are ill equipped to calculate why such adversities are necessary to our existence. Learning to cope with them DOES contribute to our growth at least. You can't argue that. What incentive to become more than we are would there be without challenges? What would we learn in a life free of uncertainties? How would we learn compassion, love, beauty or joy without callousness, hate, ugliness and sorrow. All that exists has an opposite to keep it in perspective. That is the best answer that I, as an imperfect being, can give to such questions. Also I thank you for at least responding in a more thoughtful way than others might have.

iammadness Sorry for commenting on 3 months old comment :p I'll give you the fact that it was designed. The 99% of species that have been extinct so far as well as the super volcanoes that could erupt at any second, wiping out all life on earth. However this would show a very capricious designer indeed if not an evil one to say the least. An all powerful deity with all knowledge yet decides to create a world like this. Where a star dies every second, where diseases kill children under the age of 5. With all this in mind it would be logical to assume that this deity is; either evil and enjoys this, does not care at all or the most logical does not exist in the first place. Sorry again for disturbing you with a 3 month old comment.

Leah Streader Just become a vampire, find your nearest one and provoke them in to biting you and your need for oxygen is over. If they have a different mythical creature in your area do some research on it, if it has immortality you can probably steal it by eating it's leg or some shit.

True. I used to like Vampires, until Twilight happened.. I think I'll become a zombie instead. I hear there's a heard of them not too far from my area. I'll definitely look into it. Thanks Rob Fraser!
