Mullematsch has a great video on pip wild planting rules. I now feed all my dupes on wild grown food. Francis John made a giant farm using the metal refinery to make natural tiles, but I'm not sure if there's a tutorial video on that. Basically just running hot petrol through metal tiles with algae dropped on top. I enjoy your voice and hearing you say "But that's ok" when things are not really ok, so I'm part of camp commentary :) Love your stuff.

I watch both of them. Great content.
@stefanb1554 жыл бұрын
There is also a „cold“ way to construct natural tiles. You build an manual airlock, there have to be solid tiles to the side and below the airlock. An „U“ shape of 7 tiles, maybe there also has to be another one below in the middle, so two tiles directly below the door. If you now deconstruct the airlock, it leaves an natural tile in the lower one that was occupied by the door. It used to work 100% previously, now it seems to be around 50% chance. Maybe there is other factors involved, did not figure it out yet.

3:20 The 2nd airlock door is kinda pointless to prevent the eventual steam that will be going up, since the dupes will be constantly going to harvest the peppernut on the right, which is connected to the place you were isolating away from the steam. Also, there is a pneumatic door at a higher floor that will let steam thru for the room that would have access to pokeshells. XD better off putting up walls on those places instead.

I know you've done lots of ONI playthroughs, but It doesn't sound like your aquatuner is running right. I think your bridge setup is sending every other packet of water around it. When you click on it does the window on the right alternate between normal and "pipe empty"? I run the inlet side thru the aquatuner inlet first, then to the bridge. The outlet side, starts at the aquatuner and runs through the bridge outlet out to the loop. As long as you have at least 1 empty spot in the pipe for wiggle room (assuming you're not running a reservoir), it runs great then. :)

If „speedrun“ means more priroty 9 and emergency to get things build fast, and more rushed/not so well thought out buildings, im not for it. I’d prefer a more relaxed playtrough, with focus an building/doing stuff efficiently, clever and sustainable. Just use „easy“ for oxy and food consumption so that you can have more dupes/workforce available. And maybe medium for stress. Hard for other stuff and no care packages, or it will be too easy. That will speed things up a lot, even on medium speed, which still gives you time to think more carefully what you are doing than high speed. As i said, i started a game with same coordinates and settings as this. IMO it is not superhard, but it makes it superslow.

* No commentary at all isn't that great. But you can talk less if you want to. Like just describing your plans instead of every detail * The abbysalite barrier to the magma core is really weird. Usually there is a single tile wide cooler upper layer. But in some areas there aren't actual breaks, but sections where the upper tile is hundreds of degrees hot for some reason. Which instantly boils the oil to petroleum and sometimes even to sour gas. It just starts that way and heat conduction from the magma area is still zero.

so its like a startup only issue during map gen?

@@GrindThisGame Seems like it. I'm not entirely sure. But I have noticed that on just about every map I played in about two areas. A pool of petroleum at the bottom is usually a giveaway. @@GrindThisGame Here is a picture of my current map (has a mod that changed the temp overlay scale a bit): i.imgur.com/njGrdop.jpg The yellowish tiles on the right are how it's supposed to be. 90-100°C maybe. But I also have another area on the right edge of the map where a single tile of the upper layer seems to be missing, thus creating contact with a hot tile underneath
