It required time and effort, and it was challenging at the beginning, but after 6 weeks, I am now able to perform CrossFit workouts using only nasal breathing🙌👃

Slowing down breathing has fixed like 80% of my insomnia, and even when I don't sleep, I still don't get as tired and frustrated.

I have started nasal breathing around 6 months ago by coming across of one of James Nastor's video. Then your videos were suggested and kept watching almost all of your videos. I wana say thank you for all you do. I do nasal breathing and mouth tapping every night. My life completely changed for good. Sleeping better at night, less stress during the day, calm and relaxed. My mind wont wonder anymore like it used to be, even if it wonders I will smile and bring the attention back to something positive.❤❤❤❤

This is a brilliant summary! 👏👏 I agree about age (8.10mins) and being over 60 into 70's having to err on caution. However, I've not heard any instructor say it!

I’m really surprised Patrick is now saying mouth taping can make sleep apnea worse. I was in contact with a dentist who I found through Patrick suggesting his mouth tape. I was going to a dentist who refused to test my sleep with tape and this dentist sent me info re his studies, below. I wonder why Patrick now thinks taping can make apnea worse? “You can let your dentist know that I used to make the mouth advancement devices but then found out that lip taping helped my patients much more. I would have my patients do comparative High Resolution Pulse Oximetry overnight tests, one with habitual breathing and the second night with their lips taped shut. I used the Minolta 300i tester which also gave Respiratory Disturbance Index scores. The results were consistently much better on the testing wearing the tape, just as in the research articles. I also tested appliance vs tape and the scores were closer but still better with tape alone. A slight improvement was noted by using the appliance and the tape. I would be happy to discuss this with your dentist.”

So, mouth taping is no longer advisable?
@onebreathwell-being

I assume Patrick means 'full' mouth taping (covering the lips). The nasal support breathing tape is myotape which does not go over the lips but around them. 🙏🏻💚💙

If you are referring to what he explains at 10:34 then the answer to your question is; No, mouth taping is STILL advisable. He's saying that he will no longer promote mouth taping, so that nasal breathing can get a chance to be known globally. Mouth taping has a stigma to it and it scares people away hence the benefits it has. So it's still advisable. McKeown just won't talk about it anymore.

Yes, he is referring to fully covering the lips. His own designed, MyoTape, surrounds the lips and allows for mouth puffing if needed.
