My OzCharge RescueMate was put to the test yesterday. First up, the battery died in my Harley Davidson 103 twin cam (1690cc). All I got was a 'click' when I pressed the starter button. So I connected my RescueMate to the motorcycle battery, however the battery level was not sufficient to charge the RescueMate, so I then connected the RescueMate to my car battery to charge the RescueMate. My RescueMate is the cheaper 400A model, so I really wasn't expecting it to start the H-D 103 engine, but it did it successfully. Tip 1: Make sure the clamps get a good 'bite' on the battery terminals. Tip 2: Make sure you follow the exact procedure to initiate the countdown process.

Great vid mate! I just got mine today. One thing I noticed - the vehicle had the headlights on during the jump start - this is working against you, draining charge from the jump starter.

bought one about a month ago and finally have to use it. I had my car inspected, supposedly, about two weeks ago and they never said anything about my battery being bad. I may have to take my car somewhere else. They never said anything about the starter or anything else being a potential problem. I didn't drive at all yesterday, and now my battery needs to be jumped. I had a problem with it starting before the inspection, one day, but it started after several attempts. It won't do it at all right now. great to have a device that doesn't need to be constantly charged, and that I don't need another person to be there for. I'm initially charging it from a wall socket. Oddly that takes much more time than charging off of a dead battery.

I just purchased the 10L version of this. It's a great product, keep it in your car, and you never have to charge it.

So you've only got 5 second from when it says ready to start the car is that right?

It would be good if there is an audio beep from the unit alerting the driver in the driver seat once it is ready to crank the engine. This would make it easier to use when there is only one person around to start the car.

Funny you should mention that because they are planning on adding it on the next version!

@@WildPowerSports Fitting an alert beep alarm is such a logical and an essential requirement for this kind of device, yet it took them years to realize that they need to put in an audio beep alert to this device? The designer must had been drunk while he was finalizing the original schematic of the device for production. And that's what they called "Australian Standard", as if Australian Standard is something Australians should be proud of. What a joke!

@WildPowerSports: I just got one of these today, and the instructions say to connect the red cable to the Positive (Red) Terminal on the Battery, and the black cable to the vehicle's chassis on a negatively ground vehicle, so I'm wondering why you just connected your black cable to the black terminal ?? I have the RM-750, just like yours..... Please let me know...

Australian design. Thanks for letting us know that if the battery is really TOTALLY dead, that you can go to another car with good battery, charge it up and then go to the dead car, connect it, it the Run button and start ignition. Have I got that right? It would make the difference between buying this or not.

I have the 500 amp version-It wont start my 2.4 diesel van-not enough grunt despite the up to 3ltr claim. However the 750 amp should be ok- No problems starting gas powered vehicles though. great product.

Okay...I'm SOLD! Now for the 'important question'. How much?(it occurs to me that a 'hand-crank' would 'charge-up' the capacitor(s) in this device, yes?)
