Appreciate your efforts and not being complacent. Happy with my Original Omega 2013 truck. But for sure would love to get an updated X tune. I did all the levels of SCT canned tunes with different fuels before I got the Omega....and for sure the trans tuning between SCT canned (rough time) and the Omega. I'm also thinking about doing a Y-pipe (keeping stock manifolds for now) and a Boss intake mani. Certainly that would constitute a retune

Just tuned my '19 5.0 F-150 with the Omega X with a stock setup (waiting for stage 3 parts 😍) *yet to drive it so TBD but I'm optimistic.

Sounds like everything I wished for loved my 2019 F150 5.0 Omega tune Ken is definitely the best F150 tuner out there. but always wanted the transmission to shift later or hold gears longer to keep it in the power curve sucks that I traded my 19 for a 2021 3.5 always want to try a 3.5 great truck but I think I'm going to have to find a used 2020 now LOL

Had your original flex fuel tune on my 2018 5.0 F150. It hauled ass on E85 but I hated the detonation sound I got all the time. Also sport mode on my truck was basically unusable because it slammed the shifts so hard it was ridiculous. Hopefully it's not setup that way anymore. Also, just to be clear, with this new X tune can you still run whatever gas you want from 87, to 93 to E85 without changing anything?

If you were running E85, there is no way to get detonation or knock. But it could be the direct injection pump coming online. We adjust it in the tune to bias towards DI injection sooner than stock specifically for the reason to control spark knock when using low octane fuel, and also when towing. The pump is noisy when it comes online. It’s going from 0 to 2900 psi in about 2 tenths of a second. Also, it could be noise originating from the VCT system, coming from the cam phasers and being transmitted through the timing chains as well. The noise happens when oil pressure and flow to the cam phaser is not substantial enough to overcome the inertia of the cam rotation. The VCT system is attempting to apply oil pressure to the internal passage inside the cam phaser, and that pressure is what retards the cam timing in relation to the crankshaft rotation, and the oil pressure/flow can’t overcome the force of the cam rotation. This causes the phaser to “rattle” back and forth until oil pressure/flow is enough to overcome the rotational force of the cam. But if you had concerns about your tune you should have reached out to us. Your shifting situation is not typical though and we would have gladly helped on that. Omega X is the same as Omega with the flexibility to run any octane without having to switch tunes. More on our website under the Omega X product page with lots of details. @@oztuned Yes we communicated at the time and you told me your tune has the DI injection come on sooner and that was probably what I was hearing. It sounds exactly like detonation though and was pretty loud and I always hated that about the tune. Also, I do get that chain rattle noise on decel when cold. The truck has always had that and other noises. That's one of the reason I hated the DI sound with your tune because the truck already makes so much annoying noises I didn't want any more. I put it back to stock tune and it went away. I'm considering trying this new X-tune, but wouldn't want that DI sound. I only run either 93 or E85 and don't tow.

Hey Ken, How does the Omega-X go with towing. I am from Australia and also run 98 and 95 octane fuel

No problem with towing. In fact, we tune Tow mode as well as Normal and Sport modes. Just engage the mode you want for what you are doing with the truck at that time.

Great question. The only one that can tune them now is Whipple. They have a deal with Ford and have special access for tuning. PCM's are encrypted as everyone knows since 2021, so until a software company finds a way, we can't tune them.

Ken I have a question about the 22 Mustang GT, Are they locked out like the 21/22 F150 or are they still tunable? My son has a 22 GT 6spd manual.

They are tunable, but HP Tuners is missing a lot of tables for the 21 & 22 GT's, so we are not offering tuning for them at this time until they have updated them.

Will there be an X version for the rangers as well?

May not necessarily be an "X" version, but we will likely carry over some of the Omega X shifting to the Rangers. But will need to do some extensive testing before we make any decisions. What works for one platform may not be desirable for another.

I don't doubt how effective this tune is. There's a lot of people who wouldn't consider anything but an Oz tune for their vehicles. That being said, the Oz website doesn't make it clear as far as what exactly you need to deliver these tunes into your vehicle. One of the pages actually says the tune is "out of stock". Not sure what that's all about. With the popularity and effectiveness of these tunes, it would seem that making the purchase and installation process as easy as possible would be a priority.

There is an entire section of the website with dozens of FAQs. I’m pretty confident the FAQ page has answers to all of your questions, and likely answers to questions you haven’t even thought of yet. The product pages on the site for the individual tunes also mention that a tuning device is required, and even has a link to click to take you to the product page for the device and tune combo. The devices are out of stock, because like many things in this post-covid economy, HP Tuners is having supply chain issues. So we are receiving about 1/5th of our typical stock, and we have a waiting list to order a tuning device. There is also a big notice at the top of every page of the website that advises customers to verify stock of products before ordering, as there are many companies that are dealing with supply chain issues still. So, sounds like every concern you had is addressed, but you actually need to read the information on the website. If you have further questions, there’s a “Contact Us” section on the site, where you can find our email address, and email your questions. That’s typically more effective than making these types of comments on a KZbin video.

how does the transmission scheduling in this tune compare with the transmission scheduling in the 2019-2021 ranger tune since it has the same 10r80?
