I grew up in in middle Missouri, just an hour drive north. And no one talks like her, unless they just moved up from Arkansas, East Tx, or Ok. It's a special hillbilly midwestern accent, that i have yet to see done correctly in film.

I think Ruth is the daughter that Marty wishes he always had when he deals with the entitled princess complex that his current daughter has.
