I don’t know how you do this, I’m learning as I follow along one thing I’m curious about I greatly enjoy whenever you do what you eat in a week tapping. I was wondering you have shared your goals and break down of costs per person for the month , but how would that breakdown down further to per meal. Like how much savings your garden supports and butchering your own meat. Keep up the great work
@ozarkfamilyhomesteadКүн бұрын
Thanks for the comment, Dee Dee! I haven't run the numbers on a "per meal" basis or for how our homestead production impacts the budget. I know I would LOVE to have that info. I just haven't made the time to sit down and do all the figuring! :)

Oh my, please be VERY CAREFUL with these tinctures. Several mentioned can interfere with prescribed meds, cause a decrease in platelets and other side effects. Always consult with your physicians office! I fully believe in homeopathy but you need to use caution. It’s a big money making venture.

I am considering ordering organic costs from Azure. But .... What happens if I am not available the day they deliver to my area?
@ozarkfamilyhomesteadКүн бұрын
Kitty, that can be tricky for people with busy schedules! I always ask the people in our group to have a family member or friend on standby just in case they're not able to be there to pick up their order. Some groups have it set up to where the coordinator will offer to pick your order up if you're not able to be there, but you would have to check in with your local group to see if that option is available. I think that option would be more common when there's just a small group of people ordering. If your area has huge orders, then the drop coordinator will probably not be able to offer that service. :)

Do you all roast your walnuts in a dry cast iron for just a few minutes on top of the stove? So much better when I started doing that. That's what I do with my sesame seeds that I make into tahini to add to hummus and dressings Elevated the flavor

How similar in taste is cream of barley compared to cream of wheat?
@ozarkfamilyhomestead2 күн бұрын
Good morning, Janet! Personally, I enjoyed both of them equally, but I had multiple children that drastically preferred the cream of barley. The texture is very similar as well. If I had to pick a difference, I think I would say that the cream of barley has a slightly more "nutty" flavor to it than the cream of wheat, but again, it's a very slight difference. :)
