I understand the loneliness. We are new to the area where we bought our new home. On July 15th, I lost my husband. So now I'm in a new area without the person I was closest to. I was just telling my daughter that we needed to get out, visit churches and find one that we feel we belong in. If you could just say a prayer for me and my girls as we try to build a new normal. Keeping you and your family in my prayers. Thank you reaching out in this video. It did give me hope and made me feel less alone in my heartache and loss. ❤

In the 1950’s in my PA Dutch small rural community in southeast Pennsylvania, it was traditionally traditional to have the big meal of the day at noon and call it dinner. It was geared to farming. Breakfast was a hearty meal but dinner was even bigger. Supper was still a good meal but was lighter. Now we are used to a more urban life with a light quick breakfast, a small lunch and then a bigger meal for dinner in the evening. I still call the evening meal supper and refer to the 5-6 PM hour as “ supper time”. 😉

My Mumma always let us pick our birthday dinner and cake. I always chose my great aunt Alice’s salmon, pea and au gratin casserole and chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. On Fridays we had what Mum called must goes. Everything she had cooked all week MUST GO!

Praying for your sweet family. I am a painfully shy person in social situations. Making friends is hard for me. I have acquaintances but few true friends. However, most people don't realize that i struggle socially. I think your message is spot on for many people. My pastor says each person you meet is either a blessing or a lesson. Some can be both.

I love your channel and I don't get a comment that much . I've said this once and I'll say it again. I am so blessed that your family has come into my life even though it's through the internet . you are teaching me and my husband so many valuable life skills that we never knew before, we live out in the country only an acre, but that's an acre more than what we've ever had and utilizing it the best we can. We have a garden and 17 chickens looking at getting rabbits and possibly some goats. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to teach all of us skills that will help us. That's, because mostly, it really is a slice or slices of bread, with some thing on it, a Sandwich, just not always with toast, just regular bread. Some people do proportional dinner as well. Shawn-questions: how do you combine your work as a teacher, with your work on the farm? Also, emergency ideas for the time, that one is not quite prepared for them. I cannot put a woodoven in my Apartment, so I would tend to just put on an extra layer of clothes on me. But maybe you remember, what y'all did, when you lived in that full electric house, without electricity, but three small kids? Even though, I can not often do, what you show in your videos, Shawn, I still find them very informative. If you find confusing words in my text , please blaim it on autocorrect, I do not always see, when words get switched, so it might sometimes not make sense.😂

“Don’t put a question mark where God put a period.” Ever since I heard that from a dear friend’s brother a few years ago, it has helped me in many situations where I just didn’t understand why something was happening or why something had occurred. Everything has a purpose and “all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.” For whatever reason someone chose to hurt your precious family, you know it’s nothing that you did or said. That’s just a sign that perhaps this isn’t is the time for that situation to be what you wanted it to be or what you thought it was going to be. For whatever reason it happened, just trust that God knows all about it and that it is in His hands, and you don’t need to worry about it. It might come back around and be the right time and it may not, but God will show you the way and you don’t need to fret about it one more minute. Just like you’re gonna take care of that little lost baby duck and see to its care, God is going to do the same for you and your precious family. We all love every single one of you. Prayers are a given, always. ❤🙏 (Sorry I haven’t been on much lately. I was doing pretty good and then I fell off of a ladder and have hurt my back. No, shouldn’t have been on the ladder to begin with, but I’m a little hardheaded. 🤫)
