I wanted to share a recipe with you that I often make this time of year since we have zucchini , eggs , carrots etc on the farm . It feeds a family , is healthy and is super easy to make . Cook one cup of rice in 2 cups water and let cool. Fry up a large onion , when it's soft add about 2 or three matchstick cut med sized carrots, can use celery diced but I use some red or yellow peppers that I had, dice up a tomato or some small ones if you have. I have even used canned drained . Add about a cup and a half of cheese ( any kind ) to the cooled rice. Half cheddar and Moz does well but any work. Layer half of the rice on the bottom of a high sided lasagna dish. Add the veg mixture. Rest of rice and cheese ( salt and pepper each layer) . Pour over 6 eggs beaten with one cup of cream ( I use half and half). Let sit until absorbed. Bake at 350 and add more grated cheese after about 15 mins . Bake until golden and risen . Cut in squares like lasagna . Great with homemade bread or a salad .

I stumbled upon a great deal on lemons 2 weeks ago. An unadvertised special was $.20/lemon. They were huge, fresh and juicy! Anyway, I bought 50 of them for $10.00. Came home, juiced them and froze into portions so I can have my lemonade this summer. I got enough for 13 half gallon pitchers of lemonade this summer. I'm mainly an iced tea drinker but I do love lemonade sometimes. Rare to find a deal like that.

My brother and his family have a lemon tree in their yard. I used a can of plain vanilla frosting and made it taste better by adding fresh lemon juice. Add juice to cake mix if you like. 🍋 🍋 🍋 🍋 You got a good amount of lemons for a good price.

Yes, it has been a trying week but when I see so many kind comments and then all the boxes and letters we picked up at the UPS Store yesterday, it warms by heart and lifts me up. They are all still stacked up on the kitchen table right now. We will wait to open them when we can film it and share the experience with everyone. This has been a year of ups and downs, but I should not complain. God has been good to us. Thank you for being part of this journey we are on. By the way, when Janice went to the UPS Store, another customer asked if they could take a photo of everyone, like running across a celebrity! I would have never predicted all of this.

Re: kidney stones, hopefully they analyzed the kidney stone, my husband's stone was not a calcium based one, but uric acid type. He now takes a prescription pill that is usually used for gout! Thank goodness no more kidney stones.

Yes, lemon juice does help with kidney stones. I buy lemon juice in the lemon container as I’m single. I haven’t had stones in 2 years. I was getting them once every 6 to 8 months. Also if you drink a lot of iced tea or coffee it can attribute to stones. It’s something about dark liquids.

We use tons of paper towels around our house. I keep a roll of paper towels on the bathroom sink because I do not like to dry my hands on cloth towels that others, even if they are family, have used. I keep a roll of paper towels in the kitchen and we lay them on the counter before we lay our bread down to make sandwiches. We use them to clean windows and glass and to clean up kitchen spills. My husband keeps paper towels in his workshop and I don't know how he uses them. I actually clean with old terrycloth rags because I don't like the texture of a lot of different materials that touch my hands while cleaning. We are all set, to some extent, in our ways. I am 75 years old.

Kroger has marshmallows in their Kosher section that are really good too, but the best are Trader Joe’s! They’re pretty good on not using pork products, but you still have to check because some things are. They always tell you in the ingredients though, which I appreciate!

Thank you!! I do have an e-coupon loaded up for the Dandee's brand of marshmallows. I haven't actually priced them at Kroger though, so I don't know if the coupon gives me a great deal or not. We've used that brand in the past and really liked it though! :)
