I honestly feel bad for Noel . He’s spent years building a following with codys name attached and is so deep into being a public duo with him that he’s being pressed for codys actions. Good on him for starting his own podcast and doing individual standup tours . Extremely hard to imagine that the age gap between Cody and Tana at the time of hooking up is something Noel knew about and didn’t mind and I don’t believe that’s what’s happened. I believe Noel got wind of this information within the last half year and was put in an awkward situation .

@aGrapeInUtero I want you to take a good, hard look at yourself and the closest people around you and realize the nuances of caring about someone while also wanting to remove yourself from them. People are not defined by one choice they make. I'm not a Cody defender, but this is someone who Noel has shared so much of life with, many positive, meaningful endeavors. Cody did a bad thing, he needs to face the consequences - that doesn't mean Cody's life is over and he ceases to exist and goes off to an island never seen again. If you're going to hold people around Cody to an impossible standard, to uproot their entire lives and the parts they shared at the drop of a hat when something bad happens, then I'd like to know how you'd do the same if someone you have roots with, God forbid someone who helps you make your income, suddenly is outed as having done a terrible thing. The world is gray. Things like this are not EASY, let alone fking SIMPLE. And to top it all off, its truly none of anyones business how these people are coping with this. The world of hurt Cody caused is enough. Stop spreading more misery and hate to people who have to reconsider their entire livelihood. I don't think anyone's laughing and smiling about all this. Except maybe you, because you seem ignorant to how real this is. It's not some silly internet drama. Be wary of what you sow. Karma could teach you a hard lesson too.

Y'all need to be realistic. When real life things happen, people deal with them in real life. No one's running to their camera to post a statement until they've had a bit of time to process what's happening, and what that means for them. Anyone who does is sick and twisted because heavy, serious things aren't just drama fodder for you to click on. Noel will speak on this when he's ready. Someone he centered a large part of his life around has potentially done something heinous. Noel deserves space to realize the implications of this. If you're mad, I'd wager you don't care about the wellbeing of anyone involved - you're just bored, and take pleasure in seeing people get bent out of shape. Log off.

So well put. I understand the desire some people have emotionally for a statement, but like you said, our need for moral clarification as viewers does not outweigh the first hand personal need for time to process/grieve in-person relationships. Viewers are having a very different experience to the people involved and we need to keep that in mind. I think KZbin in particular has generated a very skewed view of morality, relationships and responsibility. I think it’s useful sometimes but it also is flawed in how it demands a super rigid set of rules to follow that don’t consider the actual nuances of trauma. We’ve turned real life trauma into fast food style content to click on and simplify as if we’re watching a tv show with cartoon characters.

If you’ve tied your image to someone publicly in a way that significantly impacts your income, the legality of anything proceeding from that shared image/brand is actionable going both ways. It’s like a verbal contract in the sense that whatever Noel says will be more believable to any reasonable person bc of their association, regardless of the reality. So it would be willfully and knowingly malicious to speak with any affirmation about Cody’s situation for Noel just like it would be willfully malicious to enter into a verbal contract and renege - at least in the eyes of the law.: *That’s even if they’re not contracted to one another in some way which Noel and Cody almost certainly are.* Merely talking about a crime that is legally provable can be legally held up as an act of defamation or libel if done in a way that loses significant money before the crime is prosecuted (if it ever is at all).

Tbf I was disgusted by the betterhelp thing, but then I also started to think, “being a creator is expensive, there’s no security long term (or short term as videos/merch has “booms” and “quiet times for revenue) Would you accept a sponsor from a company if they paid way more than most companies, you have employees on payroll, and no other offers that pays the personal and business bills: suddenly that sponsor is a lot harder to turn down Especially because the company has a bad reputation already (and the comments always mention their controversy, so viewers have the info to make their own decision) Idk, looking at it from Noel’s perspective, it becomes more complex than just “turning money down bc they are bad” There’s no ethical consumption under capitalism, and imo the gambling sponsors probs cause more harm, so while I don’t agree with betterhelp: I understand creators taking the money for a sponsor

@@DillionDillionDillionDillion innocent until proven guilty IN A COURT OF LAW. If you get accused of statutory r*pe and you refuse to acknowledge it at all and intentionally ignore it hoping it will go away, then you shouldnt be surprised if more and more of the public start thinking that you most likely did it. I firmly believe cody's career could have survived if he handled this situation properly when it first came out years ago, properly apologising to tana one on one, but the way he has handled it has made even more and more shit come to light about his past to the point where now he's well and truly cooked. Its unlikely that as many people would have even known about the Colby Leechman thing and hell even his patreon apology thing, even how he was warned by gabbie hana not to do it and did it anyway (making him look even worse) if Cody had handled this properly instead of ignoring it. His incompetence and unwillingness to admit and acknowledge fault cost him his career. Sure, theres still a small chance that he could be completely innocent, but if he refuses to even deny the allegations, then he cant be surprised if the public finds it difficult to believe he's innocent. If he is innocent and denied the allegations, then people MOST LIKELY would have believed him considering he had a very good reputation and tana had a pretty bad one, so it makes no sense why he would choose to stay silent for so long unless he was scared of being contradicted if he denied the allegations (a point D'angelo wallace makes in his vid). Im someone who always tries to stay neutral in situations like these until both parties have said their side, but even I cant stay neutral anymore and am just completely dissapointed in Cody. I just hope Noel's career doesnt suffer because of cody's idiotic choices.

a lot of the time people who are close with someone who has done what Cody did, are in denial & lie to themselves that it's not true, that the victim got it wrong who they think the perpetrator is, or that the victim us lying, their brain does it to protect themselves, their view on reality, their trust & faith in that person & in the world. i doubt he "knew", it's likely heard the rumours & dismissed it, he possibly considered it true for a second & then felt guilty for 'betraying' his friend. i doubt he'd be okay with it, i doubt he's doing okay, i doubt he's okay with what Cody has done, but now Noel also has to face the truth of everything, who Cody is/was, if he heard the rumours all those years ago & dismissed it (imo, if he heard, he needs to apologise to her). he needs time to come to terms with everything, if he's able to he should make a video / statement about what he did / didn't know & cutting ties, but there may well be legalitys, like the Try Guys, with their business & brand being intertwined. i hope he's okay. edit : all of this goes for Kelsey, & possibly Aleena too, none of them deserve hate right now.

They put other women who unknowingly knew of that man’s past at jeopardy and for that it can’t be forgiven. If anything, the fact that they're not even close friends enough for Cody to go to Noel's wedding, or Noel to Cody's bachelor party, and the fact that his KZbin and the TMG KZbin is not being censored unlike Cody's subreddit and KZbin, makes me have a higher patience for him in this situation. Have you just made at least a simple comparison in views between this channel and Cody's channel? Do you really think success on KZbin is just about who is funnier and more talented and not about other factors such as family privilege, connections to important people, and many more? And when could he have distanced? He likely didn't know when it happened, the earliest he would have known is around 2021-2022, when the news started spreading around, and back then the TMG audience was up in arms at the thought of him not actually being close with Cody, in case you didn't remember, that was Noel's wedding, preceded by the gross misrepresentation by out of context Tiktok clips about what Noel thinks of Andrew Tate. I've known about Tana since 2022. Just by comparison at the responses of people on these issues, it's kind of obvious how things are skewed in favour of white men. People were calling for Noel's head for the most trivial things back in 2022, and just conveniently ignored this Tana issue. Even when news broke out again earlier this month, lots of people were still giving Cody the benefit of the doubt. It took D'Angelo and the Gabbie Hanna clip to clear things up. Btw, Noel and Cody are both signed to UTA, which has massive power in terms of clinching sponsorships, opportunities, and many more. If Noel and Cody had a falling out early on who do you think UTA will side with, who gives them more profit?
@MichaelRosales-ls7mu6 ай бұрын
@@justanormaldude42069 you have a lot of optimism in the media industry if you think just comedic and music talent is enough to make you more popular than someone else. As a hint to where you should start understanding how the social media business works, look up how talent agencies work and know what it means when both Cody and Noel are signed up to the same agency, and if they should have a falling out, who gives the agency more profit and what that implies. Finally, Noel could at best have only known starting 2021-2022 when the news first broke out. Noel literally just met Cody in 2016, the same timeframe of the Tana allegations. Tana appeared in Cody's videos at around the same time Noel did. Around the time Noel could earliest have found out, the whole TMG audience was up in arms over Cody not going to Noel's wedding, turning against Noel for supposedly cold shouldering him, and bringing up gross misrepresentations of what Noel said on the Tate episode.

@BorkBiscuit I agree with Cody doing something wrong. But it's up to Cody to address it, not his wife, not his coworker. Noel is not Cody's best friend. If you ever saw Cody's Cody runs channel, you would know that Noel is a good friend and a coworker, but not his best friend. The TMG podcast highlights have been uploading, which I can guarantee you is not run by Cody and especially not run by Noel. Noel has not collaborated with Cody in a bit since their last upload. Harassing Noel or Kelsey will not get a response. Believe me when I say that. If anything, it's just gonna cause all of them to feel harassed and stopped posting all together despite being bystanders. If we, as the general public, don't know Cody's view, what makes you think Noel would 1) know and 2) be in a position to speak on his behalf. Neither Noel nor Kelsey owe you or anyone an explanation.

@@BorkBiscuit if you truly did your research, you would know Noel likely can't legally say anything even if he wanted to because Cody owns his channel.

You are possibly one of my favorite stand up artists, content creators, and overall I think you’re a cool dude Noel. But PLEASE make some sort of statement regarding your stance on Cody now. I know you didn’t have any association with the actual crime he committed but you have known him the longest and you couldn’t have not known about what happened unless you saw the comments or someone mentioned it to you. Other wise I’m extremely disappointed that nothing has been said for the past 5 years since this happened. Please Noel if you do read this, just come forward with a statement.

@@melanie4125 they aren't besties back then. Cody met Noel in 2016, and they met to make videos together but was facilitated by Cody starting work where Noel was working. They have never been anything more than work friends. They have publicly said so years before Tana even drew attention to what happened. Playlist live and the first Tana-Cody collab predate any video where Noel and Cody are seen together. They have entirely different sets of close friends and have never been seen hanging out outside video collabs and TMG and before that, lunch time at full screen where they used to work, if they did do so, they they would have been featured in the vlogs they make during that time especially in consideration of their mutual celebrity.
