I had been on Trulicity for a couple of years and it did nothing for. Then last November, a friend told me about Mounjaro and I switched. I started out with 5mg on November 16th. By Christmas, I was down 20 pounds. I titrated up to 7.5mg and by May 1 was down another 40 pounds. I’m 5’7” and my heaviest was at 208. I’m now down and maintaining at 148 and I feel better than I have in years. No more blood pressure or cholesterol meds. I thank God for these meds. They’re literally changing folks lives without the need for surgery.

@@henowillson934 Dear Heno; Thank you for your comment. You are not the only one who has told me up there difficulty in getting Mounjaro. Hopefully this world wide shortage. Regarding what you should eat, I would focus on trying to eat healthy, full foods; you should stay away from foods, heavy in sugar and fats, although healthy fats like those found in avocados, cheese and nuts iPhone as long as they are not taken in access. The good news is that the medicine will help to lessen the amountof food you eat which is critical for weight loss. And due to its effects on the receptors in your gut, one of the great features of these medicines is a decrease in appetite!!! I wish you the best of luck on your weight-loss journey!

While I lost weight I was miserable with symptoms of fatigue , headaches and nausea. I did not feel like myself. Well fast forward to a week ago. Looked and found out my insurance this year will cover mounjaro so I switched. I have had 2 injections so far at 7.5 mg. The difference has been night and day. I finally feel like me again and zero side effects. I know they are very different medications but I am so happy to be on mounjaro now. Do alot of people have those sode effects with ozempic?

Such good information! I have been on Semaglutide since 3/28/23 doing the usual 4 weeks ea of .25, then .50, then 1.0, then 1.7 and now finally 2.4. I did not lose 1 single pound in those first 3 months! SO Discouraging, but luckily I did take my measurements each month and have lost 15 inches in this time period. Finally when I made it to the 1.7 dose I started losing 1 lb a week, and now that I'm at 2.4 I'm steadily losing 2 lbs a week. I feel fantastic and much more motivated & happy now that the scale is moving in the right direction. I've also been on WW thru this all. The Fibrous Fat talk you gave really hit me as it makes so much sense. My husband could feel my fat loosening up and he kept saying that all the time the scale didn't move. Some really helpful secrets I have learned off of youtube is #1 take your shots at night to avoid the nausea. Also when you get to the highest dose, give yourself the shot in the fat on the side of your thighs instead of your stomach and you won't get nausea. This was a game changer for me at least. Hope that helps someone like me (I still need to lose 50 lbs).

I personally started on the injections in July of last year and have now lost 100 lbs total!!! When my weight loss slowed down about 6 months on the injection I spoke with my doctor who increased me to 2 mg coming from 1 mg. Though I initially experienced nausea for the first few months I stayed with it taking the injection at bedtime instead and having something light on my stomach to help combat the nausea. Luckily the nausea eventually went away and I’ve continued consistently loosing on average about 2 lbs weekly. Also with the injections I didn’t have much

Hello Dr. O, I have battled my weight my entire life. I was previously on Trulicity, for almost two years. I'm currently taking Mounjaro to lower my A1C, and to lose weight. My question is, once I have reached my weight loss goals, how long will I need to continue to take Mounjaro? It has been the only medication that had helped me to lose weight. Mounjaro seem to be what has truly helped me on my weight loss journey. I'm feeling so grateful.

Hello and thank you for your comment. As you are not my patient and I have no idea as to your medical history, I cannot advise you as to how long you will need to continue taking Mounjaro once your weight loss goals have been met, particularly since it sounds as though you are also using the medicine to help lower your hemoglobin A1c. This is definitely a discussion that you should have with your prescribing physician. I wish I could be more helpful. Doctor what is the best time to take the meds, morning, noon evening night?
@thedr.omethod45345 ай бұрын
Hi!! Regarding timing of the medicines, I say take it at a time when you will remember to take it every week. Also I would add that on days that you take the medicine do not over eat as this may add to feelings of nausea, especially when starting the program. I hope the helps. Good luck!!

Hi and thank you for your comment. Choosing the right medicine is a process that should be undertaking with you and your prescribing physician. The choice is based not only on your bloodwork, but other factors like your medical history, other medicines you may be taking, and even your response to other diabetic medicines. Particularly since you are a type II diabetic, and are taking these medicines primarily to control your insulin levels, I cannot recommend one over the other. I wish I could be more helpful. Best of luck on your health journey!!

Hello! Great video! Thank you. My question is if we can take B12 oral supplements instead of injections? Second question is if it’s possible to lose weight if a patient stays on the 1mg without going on the 2mg dosage of Semaglutide/ Ozempic? Thank you!

@@fatimaa5311 @thedr.omethod4534 18 hours ago Hi and thank you for your comment! Regarding taking vitamins by mouth, you should be aware that over-the-counter vitamin business is not an FDA regulated industry. And as such, the variability between different brands, and the content of different vitamin can vary greatly. So because of this, I am somewhat reluctant to recommend oral supplements, although I am sure that there are many brands out there that are excellent! Also, everyone’s gut is different; meaning that what you absorb when you take a supplement can be very different from what I absorb when I take a supplement. This variability is often related to genetics as well as your medical history and the medicines you take. It is also sometimes related to the biomes in your gut, which can often facilitate the absorption of certain supplements. So the variability in gut absorption is a second reason why I am reluctant to recommend oral supplements. However, with this said, the decision to take a B12 supplement should be made by both you and your prescribing physician. This is where you can take into account your lifestyle, your medical history and your medicines! I hope this information is somewhat helpful. Be well!!

I agree also, these tips are the most helpful I have read. There are so many that make the side affects so scary to try. I see so many people, that I know do so well in their weight loss journey. Only thing was that I had to figure it out for myself because they didn’t share their amazing results will me. It’s ok , I know it’s there for me too. In fact I have acquired even more information. Thank you Dr. O. for sharing. You are appreciated. ❤😊

I'm glad I found your video. I took my 1st 0.25 shot of ozempic last Sunday. I have lost my appetite, but now I know to eat more fruits and vegetables and drink more water with lemon & lime. Is taking a teaspoon of sea moss okay to take at this time Dr. O? I have the more stubborn fat in my stomach, thanks for the tip of being patient.

Hi and thank you for your comment! Regarding taking a supplement like sea moss, you should be aware that over-the-counter vitamin business is not an FDA regulated industry. And as such, the variability between different brands, and the content of different supplements can vary greatly. So because of this, I am somewhat reluctant to recommend oral supplements, although I am sure that there are many brands out there that are excellent! It is also sometimes related to the biomes in your gut, which often facilitate the absorption of certain supplements. So the variability in gut absorption is a second reason why I am reluctant to recommend oral supplements. And finally, regarding taking sea moss, while there is likely no adverse effect of taking it with these medicines I urge you to ask your prescribing physician if it is appropriate for you as I cannot advise you on this as I do not know your medical history. I wish I could be more helpful. I wish you all the best.

Ty!! Great video! I just started Semiglutide low dose one week ago. I am excited to keep going but I’ll admit it was a challenging week. I was on my period and it was the most intense period of my life. I havnt heard any docs talk about how this can effect hormones but the nurse who gave me the injection said she had to stop due to severe periods while on that generic form of the drug. I am tolerating the mild daily nausea with ginger ale. Im also taking Senna herb to make sure i stay regular since this can slow digestion. I had lots of energy the first 3 days but then i hit a Brutal fatigue wall. Not sure if its the medication or if I became anemic mid week. I take an iron pill around these times since im vegetarian. Im pretty active and have enjoyed not having much appetite from the med but since i luv a morning and early afternoon coffee… i find i have to eat something or i get jittery. I lost 2 pounds by day three but then gained a pound on day5. I agree i have to be patient even though im only planning on losing 25 lbs then weaning off. I hope i can do it. I hope my body can do it and that my insulin is ok. Im shocked at all my belly fat in the last year. I don’t feel like i over eat but im realizing i have to reduce my calorie intake to see results. I don’t really want high doses of any med so i need to be more honest with myself and account for that.
