The doctor is correct. 98% are just writing prescriptions with absolutely no direction. I had to learn from KZbin and comments. I think I have it down perfect for now. You have to prep your body before you take these drugs in the beginning. I cut out processed foods and only vegetables as carbs. My meats were lean(dumb mentality of no fat). Then I started Mounjaro, the first 2-3 weeks was basically a none trusting fart experiences. Your body will get use to it. But you have to take advantage and feed it correctly with Whole Foods. Don’t be like everyone that goes from eating 3-4 slices of pizza to one slice of pizza. No, eat good food. Train your body while the drug distracts your brain and habits of bad eating. Build new good habits, these drugs are traing wheels we will have to take off eventually. The inflammation down so much, I couldn’t believe the walking without pain. Learning from several doctors on here, I am on a flip flopping cycle. I eat 2 meals a day 700-900 calories each, high protein and high fat now. I have coffee in morning with MCT oil and cocoa bliss. Total calorie is 135 all fat. I reduced my eating window from 1200-0530. I started 24hr fast on Mondays and every other week I do a 48hr fast mon/tue. I still have coffee with MCT oil on those days. My ketones stay high those days. I did the CGM, hate the fcking alarms. I had days were I was 55-75. Alarm goes off under 70. I feel fine. I even walk and it will raise it. I found lifting weights raised my blood sugar. By 10-25 points. I realized I am on a dirty keto carnivore. I eat green vegetables under 150 calories twice a week and eat 2 avocados a week on other days. Yes I eat fresh fish, meat, pork, chicken, and can fish when out. Every 2 weeks I have a 150 calorie piece of dark chocolate for antioxidants. Once a month I have a keto cereal with berries and heavy cream. I am up to walking 2-3 miles a day 3-4 times a week. I lift weights 3 days. Sunday rest. On fast days I walk and lift. Found Ketone IQ with my amino electrolytes water is awesome on fasting days before long walks and lifting weight. This June was 486lbs. Today down to 360lbs. I average 5lbs a week loss. Still on Mounjaro, never went above 5mg and I stretch my shots out to 8-10 days. Look forward to my appointment with Doctor Cywes summer of 2024. For exit strategy. Do not be quick to titrate up. Stay as low as possible. Help the drug work, it will help you. It’s a partnership.

No dairy, No sodas, No fried foods, no sugar. I keep my carbs below 10 grams a day and follow the ketogenic diet. My mind feels very clear and my energy has skyrocketed and my sleep is better. I really don’t feel tired ever. Will never go back to my old way of eating junk all the time. If it comes in a box or package I can’t eat it. I am 69 y.o.

Being obese leads to heat attack and diabetes. My use of Mounjaro helped me lose 36 pounds and my A1C went from 7.6 to 5.4. I have no side effects at all. I do track my calories but if we need to be on this medication for life why is that a big deal. Diabetics take insulin for life. Bariatric surgery is far more invasive and many people even after gastric bypass surgery also can gain back weight. Thank God they have discovered these medications.

I’m not the original poster, but I have lost 80lbs on Mounjaro and I used all doses over the past year. I titrated up quickly but wish I hadn’t moved up doses so quickly. The only thing I’d change is to stay on the lowest dose possible for as long as possible and you’re still losing. And to go low and slow so you can integrate your new lifestyle alongside the weight loss and exercise. If you just lose weight and don’t exercise, and eat crappy food, you’ll wind up thin and weak. I’m coming down slowly from 15-12.5-10mg now and will continue to decrease until something changes. I would like to see if I can get completely off and see where my fasting insulin level settles in. The reason I got to top doses was simply my doctor recommended it. She was learning too. It’s been a bit of a bumpy process, but I’m off sooooo many meds and I’m rebuilding my health! Good luck! BTW-early and fast weight loss isn’t sustainable nor ideal. Some ppl lose a few pounds a month and they stay on 2.5mg for their entire journey. Take time to dial in what works for you!

I was on keto from 2017-2020. I didn't lose on it until I added intermittent fasting. But while I didn't lose on keto, I felt great. I got rid of the inflammation and maintained my weight. I could move without difficulty on keto. Intermittent fasting was great, I lost nearly 50lbs. In 2020, I stopped and gained that 50lbs back. For some reason, I just couldn't get back on keto. In May 2022, I started semiglutide. Since then, I"ve lost 90lbs, working my way back to full keto/carnivore. I'm planning on a tummy tuck in the fall, so I'm focusing on low carb, high protein to help build muscle. I made homemade meatballs with bacon, cheese, and ground beef. I eat either those or chicken wings every day for lunch. Dinner is either more meatballs, steak, or bacon/eggs. The semiglutide was a huge game changer for me and I'm now the same weight I was in high school. It's taking time, but I'm breaking those bad food habits and getting back into a good workout routine.

I am 6 weeks into my journey with Mounjaro, I am starting to lose weight but most important is my blood sugar. I am a type 2 diabetic, and I have been in this condition since 2005. I have tried and tried for years to get my sugars under control and it is very difficult for me. Since being on Mounjaro, my sugar levels have dropped and now consistently range between 90 and 115. I have dropped my insulin intake by about 40% (Toujeo). There seems to be a bit of controversy regarding Mounjaro, but its primary purpose is for type 2 diabetes control and it is working very well for me. I need to lose weight, but sugar control is my primary goal -- and it is working great. I took Trulicity for a couple of years, and it did not help much. It could be I was taking the very low dose (1.5mg). All medicines have some side effects, but for me the end result is worth the cost. Diabetes, if not controlled, will eat you alive!

I started taking Mounjaro December 16, 2022 because I had developed type 2 diabetes. The way Mounjaro made me feel was spectacular! No more food obsession, being able to stop eating because I finally felt full! I ate solid food once daily and decided (on my own with zero help or counsel from my endocrinologist) that I would eat low carb and high fat (especially after seeing what a baked potato did to spike my blood glucose level)! The diabetes went away after less than three months (A1C is 5.2, fasting glucose is 85). I lost 80 pounds by September 2023. Then, despite a normal EKG, a CRP of zero, triglyceride to HDL ratio of 1.6, and no more arthritis breakthrough pain, my endocrinologist started whining about my high LDL cholesterol! It was high at 196, but I had no inflammation! My CAC is 18 (I’m nearing 60 years old, so not bad). I got seriously stressed by my doctor’s insistence that I was going to drop dead within days and really had to get myself together. I even took Nexletol, but then started getting those awful, statin-like, painful muscle twitches and weak upper thigh muscles (with cramping this time as well). I went off that poison and since I was on a roll, I even weaned off the Nexium I’d been taking for 26 years. The heartburn wouldn’t go away, so I reduced the Mounjaro (at my request, not my doc’s) back to 2.5mg per week. It got better but did not go entirely away, so I stopped the Mounjaro (about a month ago) and am just waiting to get my blood test before I go to a high fat carnivore (elimination) diet. Up until tomorrow, I still eat some veggies like onions, garlic, cabbage, cucumbers and tomatoes, but they give me heartburn. I was hoping I could keep drinking my cream in my coffee, but alas, the cream gives me terrific heartburn. I did continue to lose another 10 pounds after the last three months, but not at the rate I was losing before I let that god-dang doctor stress me out. I go tomorrow for labs that I ordered through the “Own my Labs” website where I will be able to get the NMR cholesterol panel I asked for, but that none of my current docs would order (claiming it was redundant). If the LDL drops, I will be filing an adverse event with Eli Lily.

I watched my dad suffer through the permanent side effects of bariatric surgery. He eventually gained it all back. (We had to arrange all his meals and it was protein first, then sides if he had room. The very first week I understood on my own that GLP-1s were bariatric surgery without the scalpel. You will change what you eat whether you want to or not. I remembered “protein first” and I’ve stuck with that. Even if I have no appetite at ALL I drink a high protein shake. If I skip a meal, I will dry heave. 💯 After I finish my protein if I’m still hungry then I’ll fill up on (aka pick at) the rest of the food on my plate. I listen to my body and eat intuitively. I average 1.4 lbs lost a week. But I had been “dieting” the last 20 years… so I didn’t change what I ate. I already ate 80% clean. I can see what a miserable disaster it could be without a good foundation. When my husband started on them he just followed my lead and he’s doing better than me 😆

Because I’m starting at the beginning dose, do most people need to wait a bit til they start seeing results again? I exercise, but have no appetite it’s hard to eat. I’m eating tiny things here and there but I don’t think it’s enough. What I have noticed is my fatigue , depression, nausea , and the vomiting, are gone! I’m scared I’m not going to lose anymore weight. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Or any suggestions would be appreciated, from anyone. One last question-is it safe to fast and do intermittent fasting while on GLPs? Again thanks for this video. FYI stock your pantry with lots of zinc, and vitamins. My kids got a cold every week it seems since starting school! Lol

I weighed myself this morning and achieved my goal weight on Mounjaro🥳. It is a life-changing medication. I lost 20% of my starting weight in 7 months, and my A1C is now 5.4 which is much better, and my blood pressure is perfect. I agree with you on all the side effects, they do lessen with time and you also learn to effectively manage them. After 2 months I no longer had to take nausea medication. Still dealing with the constipation, Mag07 is great to get rid of that. My stomach has shrank, and I no longer need to eat large portions to feel full. So it’s important to eat healthy food when on a GLP1! Low fat is important though, otherwise you end up getting massive heartburn because the GLP-1 slows down your digestive system. I have to take heartburn medication every day.

What are some low fats to eat. My goal is to get my A1C down and to lose the stubborn stomach fat. So I know my Dr. wants me to be down about 20 to 30pds. I am still taking metformin, drinking more water and my dosage of ozempic is 0.25. My appetite has started to decrease. I'm experiential a little nauseau.

All she said was eat less. I have never been a person that eats large amounts, I eat sweets too much. So all she said was eat smaller portions multiple times throughout the day. It was better but still have some gastric issues. I had to do my own research to find how to properly eat to avoid the side effects.

This is right. I'm in the UK but he is telling the truth, I'm pretty much already on a mainly plant based whole food diet but have meat and fish and lots of seeds, nuts and legumes to keep to my 50g of protein daily. I also take vitamin D and K and Omega 3, 6 and 9 along with other micronutrients. I try to balance carbs with fats and proteins and walk as much as possible during the day. I started Wegovy yesterday, I know something is different as I'm not interested in food now and although I couldn't say I'm nauseus, I do have a vague sick feeling and no interest in food, I wouldn't have believed that it has impacted my relationship with food so quickly.

WOW.. learned more from this than from my DR. In fact was told thoI did not need to diet. I'm on a walker from a failed back surgery.. I'm very limited to moving around, infact had two falls in the past 2 months. I went off the generic Ozempic for cost reasons as I'm 77 years old and my budget could not handle it. It cost to eat healthy. Pasta, rice and junk food is cheaper. BUT still staying on mostly salads..no fried foods BUT more carbs the weight started coming back. I gained 30 pounds of the 40 I had lost. So I cancelled one of my life insurance policies and went back on it. I still have to budget food. Can't afford salmon or most seafood, but love canned tuna. Will beat this. Wish you were here in the Rio Grande Valley! Thank you for the information.

Thanks for this info. I was diagnosed with diabetes a couple of years ago and my doctor wanted to put me on something right away. I did very low carb and got my A1c down from 6.8 to 6.0 with diet and lost 25lbs. But my body decided to fight it and it started to back on and A1c went up to 6.4. Doctor wanted me to see a nutritionist who told me that diabetics should never go low carb so I followed her instructions and guess what, my A1C went up to 6.8. My doctor put me on Oz and I’ve lost 12lbs since May but it’s starting to creep back on though A1C is now 5.7. So now she is switching me to Mounjaro…mostly because of the extreme fatigue and constipation. So this time I’ll do low carb and see how it goes.

I am one of 3 siblings. Two can eat whatever they want and look as if they walked out of a gym. I eat LESS, CLEAN homemade organic veggies, researched my entire adult life, exercise like a fit person, and have lived my 51 years STILL 20lbs heavier. I look 29 years younger than my age, but I have the DNA for cellulite, extra fat, etc. When i don't eat, I get very sick. When I eat sugar, very rarely but Christmas and a treat for my bday, I get toxic reaction like being sick. I have learned since my early 20's that sugar makes me sick. I wake up sick. It's terrible poison. My sweets are berries. Period. Fasting only works when I stop eating by 5 and then break the fast with organic coffee and organic half half. Then my first meal is at around 11 am-ish.. Here's my cry: it HURTS to work as hard as I do. Know and employ what I've learned over the years to hear and see people be so quick to be cruel and ASSume, everyone who is not thin, is in some form doing something wrong. As a chikd from preschool to high school, I was terrible bullied by peers and family. I've had been looked at like I ha e no right to eat and even comments and looks that they "feel sorry" for me. It's this idea that you're not good enough wherever you go,you're doing something wrong, you're lesser than.. and women, it's a power play for many of them. Thinner than you, somehow that makes them better. And, I'll say this-- most of the fitness instructors out there wirey thin, they were BORN that way. Smart enough to market it their gift. I don't eat sugar, sugary drinks, bread, grains. I WORK at it. My siblings don't have to. I even make myself walk every evening after dinner for atleast one mile or two. I have a suspicion that my body does not absorb calories well. I also have the MTHFR mutation. I have loved through severe childhood trauma. Stress has been pretty hard on me. But, again, my siblings have the nice genes. They don't at all have to walk after dinner when exhausted. They don't have to do anything special. I do. The blessing for me is I look much younger and have great skin. Starving all the time just to battle, making sure I workout-- living afraid of food, yet have to eat or I get sick-- is terrible. Being made fun of,even as an adult, is terrible. We have to eat to live. We have to deal with food. So, people like me, who do DO THE WORK and do ear keto, healthy fresh veggies, grass fed organic beef, etc-- we need help. No one should have to live like this. It's like a hamster on a wheel as watch other people living life, but you best get on that wheel. If I could live like my siblings, for once, yet I would continue working out, weights, walking, etc bc I want to continue hiking, being active with my grandkids, enjoying life with my spouse... I will still eat the way I do bc my body gets sick eating like most people. I haven't had fast food and restaurants gross me out. So yes, for me-- if the medication give lifts my stress. If it gives me the extra boost to actually receive the rewards of my self discipline hard work, I sure am going to try it. I've done all the work, self discipline and research. People like me have some kind of kink in our DNA. It's like being born without an arm. If there is a med that can help me like a prosthetic arm helps someone , I am all for it. I'm trying Ozempic. My regular doctor won't prescribe it. She's a naturally thin person so she has NO understanding. And, I don't blame her for questioning me. I'm sure most of her patients fib about their health. I hope this helps someone. I hope this helps people think twice when assuming why a person is overweight. I don't need to be skinny. I just want to have some emotional freedom. 🌈🙏🌷

Well we’re just talking so I hope nobody takes this wrong. But I think too much emphasis is on intermittent fasting. What I mean is I think it’s important to fast, but the reason behind it is it gives your body a chance to go in diagnostic mode and heal with no physiological changes to deal with. Losing weight is a side product of it. But to me, the most important is learning to eat better and portion size.

May I ask why your doctor said you should take it? Obviously not for obesity! My doctor said that most insurance companies are not covering it except for type 2 diabetes. They are losing too much money so they won’t cover it even for fatty liver disease or prediabetes. (Edit: I’m in Tennessee and have Blue Cross Blue Shield, a very good plan, and it only pays for Ozempic for type 2 diabetics, won’t pay ANY for Mounjaro)

But I must say, I am not diagnosed with colitis or ibs but I was on the toilet up to 6 times a day with diarrhea, for over 30 years! It's just so tiring. My mom always said I should be so skinny because I go to the bathroom like people did in the 70's 80's by taking laxatives to lose weight. But I gain weight instead of losing weight. I use compound tirzepatide. Let's just say my diarrhea days are very few and in between. It's so nice to not to have to worry about that. Could your Dr have been thinking maybe it would help with your colitis? Like you said your your own advocate, so happy you stuck to your guns. But maybe read up on how the meds effect people with colitis. Best of luck. 😘

My brother passed away from a shooting a couple years ago, and I had panic attacks so they put me on seroquel. I was in great shape with a great workout routing before that happened. On seroquel I gained 20 pounds, and also felt so fatigued the whole time. Which made me even more depressed. I got off of it about a year ago but it’s been hard to lose the weight even with working out and healthy eating. I am taking semeglatude and I think it’s helping me but I think I’ll be able to keep it off after I’m done with it

I am on low carb, protein, fat diet and no snacks, lost 30 lbs in 10 months. No sweets cravings but starches only still. My carb intake daily is from 0 to 50 gr per day, depends on occasion. I do not believe i need medication. Please advise, somebody! I follow roughly 18: 6 time schedule, varies from 16:8 to 20:4. And i am 86 yrs old. And i do take a dessert once in 2 to 3 months.
