The tricky part with budget builds is to get the maximum value/$ on the long term, not buy too cheap and have to upgrade earlier or buy too expensive and have more than what you really need but still upgrade at the same time in the future. That is a very tricky balance, it depends on hardwaredevelopment, price-development and game-development.

A power supply that I like lately is the Thermaltake Smart BM3 650W, the price is higher, $60 to $70, it gives a little more headroom for future upgrades and is a semi-modular design with all black cables. @drek9k210 ай бұрын
@@nikolassovtich1309Yeah like I'd recommend anyone try and get a 700w if they can, IF they was planning to keep it and upgrade the thing in a few years. You pretty much can't do that without either getting a lower end part with low power draw or having to upgrade PSU and let me tell you changing out power supply is one of the biggest hassles, only replacing the motherboard is a bigger pain in the ass and not by much. You typcially want only one PSU in the life of the PC even a very high end one. It's a hassle and money you never needed to spend, so try and make that last. 650w should be plenty for most GPUs, and I doubt anyone is buying a 4090 or 7900XTX if they're starting with a 500$ minmax build. 500w is fine for lots of parts but if it's on Intel you may run into power problems when trying to fit power budget into an i7+new GPU. Ryzen is super good for that reason, it's so power efficient.

The thing to remember with the b350/450 and a320/520 motherboards is that you don't get Gen 4 support, only Gen 3. So either go for the Gen 3 nvme(slighty cheaper also) or get the non-wifi Gigabyte B550M DS3H(which in the UK is the same price as the b450 wifi). Also not having Gen 4 support effects the performance of some low end gpus(rx6400/6500xt/etc).

+1 for the observation. GPU in Hogwarts is showing only 70ish % utilization. The Ryzen 5600 (x or non x are very close in performance) is only about $120 on Newegg. The 5600G is NOT a good alternative (the G has less cache). 5600(x) has higher clock speed then the 5500 and more cache which would help keep data flowing to the GPU. It's also possible that using a PCIE Gen 3 slot might be contributing to the issues? (hint hint...possible video comparison topic...) Good news is that this build would give great service, while you kept an eye out for a screamin' deal on a B550/5600 or better GPU combo.

Very quiet, very cheap, tiny footprint, fun to build and not too hard - since every motherboard comes with the back metal plate to pop in, a dremel type tool to cut out the opening after tracing the plate is also quick (choose the right dremel blade, or if you have a keyhole/scroll saw that also works easy) and everything fits.

WOW! I've seen many builds from cheap to expensive but for some reason this build is just beautiful and I need to duplicate your exact build. I'm not kidding out of every builld I've seen this specifc one right here is my favorite and can't wait to mimic it in the near future when I can afford it haha! anyway thanks for another great pc build OZ and God bless!🤓👍

I can't fault your choices but I'll point out the one obvious thing. That PSU will potentially limit any GPU upgrades. It's a $500 build with new parts so it is what it is. The only alternative I can think of is moving some of the CPU budget to the PSU and maybe try getting something beefier. The catch would be that further down the line your new GPU might be limited by the weaker CPU. Such is the life of a PC builder.

agree, that power supply is more for video cards that are single 8pin at most

A fully modular 650W 80+ Gold power supply can be had for only $80. For those who say this is an extra $30 over the MSI unit demonstrated in the video, you need to work a little harder and be more patient with your life.

I almost built this PC recently. I wanted a 2nd HTPC for my bedroom and had the urge to build again, but I knew that the wife wouldn't want a whole PC in the bedroom so I opted for a Ryzen 7 mini PC and that worked out great. Thanks for the video!!

why is a computer builder giving out so much wholesomeness

Very well done, to be able to build such a good computer for relatively little money. When second-hand option also costs almost the same amount. High marks and you explain so well. Thanks

I like what you've done here. I've been thinking about building a PC for a buddy of mine, and this one looks like it would suit him perfectly.

Imo if you're building with AM4 you want to have at least a Zen 3 processor since it will be the final upgrade path of AM4. But I think the Ryzen 5600 will make the price went up over the $500 price limit. Still a worthy spending though

With the IO shield you don't need to place it on the IO of the motherboard before installing, you can snap in the IO Shield to the IO cut out of the case and then align the motherboard with the standoffs which should alight the IO with the cutouts in the shield.

🙂 he just wanted to make sure he didn't install it upside down, so thats why he place it on the motherboard temporarily, but yeah like u said he then went on and placed the shield into the case first, he just didn't film it
