You can solve the desk space issue and even add a 3rd monitor to the set up with a proper monitor arm/bracket (assuming your monitors are VESA mount compatible), I got one a while back that clamps the the back edge of my desk, and it freed up all of the space where my monitor stands used to be. More desk space + the ability to add more screen real estate. Personally I would never sacrifice screen real estate for desk space.

This is a great list! I'm currently compiling a parts list for my partner's little brother to build him a PC using my last PC's case and motherboard left over. My list is coincidentally nearly identical to your's, with an Arc A580 and Ryzen 5 5500 being the main features. These seem like great options for his needs and while it's still a budget build, it certainly isn't going to keep him from some graphic heavy single player games at 1080p. Thanks for the video!

You could have used a 5600x which is ridiculously close to the price of the 5500. Plus, if aesthetics don't matter, you could have chose a cheaper and uglier case to spend something more on the GPU. Even 550$ with a slightly better CPU and GPU would have done the job and would have annihilated the consoles.
@Pickleboi.8 сағат бұрын
In my country the 5600 is twice as expensive as it’s supposed to be but I opted for the 5500 and to be fair there isn’t a noticeable difference especially when gaming. I paired it with a 6600 xt which was the only secondhand part and the build cost around $490 if converted from my currency. If you went for all secondhand parts you could probably shave $200 off that price or get even better hardware. When it comes to pc vs console I only have a console for relaxed gameplay and for when I have someone over. It’s more for when I don’t want to sit at my desk hunched over my keyboard to play some games.

I wanna get into pc. Console gaming is so shit these days with no exclusives and expensive online subscriptions. Having control of your own hardware and games with mods just seems so much better.

Guide me on my 1st pc build - my pick: 3060 12gb, i7 13700kF, 32gb RAM. I play no games but into unreal, blender and unity for AR MR development. Kindly guide me. My budget is under 800- 1000€. Also recommend suitable case, motherboard, cooling sys and other components(upgradable)for the build.

When I was in my teens, always in tight budget, I used to do this kind of builds a lot. This was in the 90s, though, and no usable computer part was cheap back then. Nowadays I tend to assemble these kinds of systems to run machines, for lab students, etc., and they are still awesome, and very silent. I have a fat machine at home these days, but I really love these builds that treat respectfully things that others call e-waste and are great for kids, programming, light development and light gaming.

brooo if you want the functionality of 2 screens while having physically 1 for aesthetics, get an ultrawide monitor. i heard it's really good for productivity especially video editing or using multiple applications at once.

Also guys just bc it says 2060 or 4060 or 3060 just know the brand of the gpu has a lot to do with the actual performance of the card.
@Pickleboi.8 сағат бұрын
No it doesn’t. The brand has to do with the cost to performance ratio. If you’re confusing a 2060 with a 4060 then you should’ve done more research but it definitely doesn’t have anything to do with the brand since all three of those are nvidia GPUs. Brand doesn’t matter unless you want the best cost to performance ratio. In that case, get an amd gpu. An Rtx 3060 is $50 more expensive than an rx 6600 xt but actually performs on par if not slightly worse than the 6600 xt. The difference isn’t big enough to tell the difference but you’re saving $50 just by going with amd. So if you’re looking to build a pc just do your research and don’t listen to people that say one brand is better than the other. At the end of the day it just comes down to preference and budget. Pick the card that fits into your budget and don’t worry what brand the card is. Hope this helps for anyone looking to get into pc building.

Its sucks PC hardware is so inflated right now. Gone are the days of the genuine $500 console killer budget builds of 2013. Try doing it in 2024 and it always comes out to over $500.
