This just popped up here on the East coast of the USA and I have to get up early tomorrow, but I'll watch it tomorrow. I love your review's and Beretta, I bet I'll have to buy a new gun. Thanks a lot, oh wait that's a good thing! Ruger Rich

A review that made sense! Thank you for that, it's rare these days. Round feed and magazine operation are so important in Alaska where you want quick round feed on bears especially. You spoke to that right away and it is appreciated. Trigger pull is so important and you nailed that, too. Well done.

In North America, I see this rifle best used for Moose, Bear, and Boars that warrant fast following shots or multiple targets in the hunt of Boars. Which is why this rifle needs to be offered in the .338 Winchester Magnum caliber as well. The Alaskan and Canadian guides and hunters would go wild for it and so would the Boar guides and hunters in the Southern U.S.A. A great product from Beretta and a great video review. Thank You.

I came to see if you could keep your cheek weld when reloading...and you delivered! I've always appreciated your thought out testing methods, especially for real world shooting situations. I looks like this will fit the bill if a rapid follow up shot on big game is necessary. Thanks for the great review.

Howdy from Canada 🇨🇦. As a lefty the Savage Impulse got my attention being able to swap the bolt to either side but not the case ejection. This rifle has both and I'm amazed how little the bolt handle moves to lock/unlock the action. Sounds like an excellent adjustable trigger too. Very well done review, I'm a new subscriber.

I have had mine for 3 months now and blooded it on a nice NT boar yesterday. I bought it literally as a pig hunt for mainly shooting running boars. Mine is a 20" barrel version in .308 fitted with an Aimpoint Red Dot. Pros; Good ergonomics, acceptable trigger, easy scope mounting, I like that you can remove spacers in the butt to get the LOP just right, I like the matt blued metal work, magazine works well, accurate, I like the safety. Cons: Heavy, could do with being up to 1.5lb lighter. Id pay more for one if it had a carbon fibre stock, Bolt is a pain in the ass to remove, would prefer it available with Iron Sights ( batue configuration), Would like to have large capacity mags available and finally its a very ugly rifle, That rounded for-end is hideous. Overall it's still a very decent quality hunting rifle.

Very interesting rifle dude. Never really heard of straight pull bolt actions until a few years ago now they seem to be popping up everywhere looking forward to getting my hands on one. Cool video.

They've been around for over 100 years, I dunno why they've just begun to get popular the the last few.
@neutronalchemist32413 жыл бұрын
They had been quite popular, with several models made, until WWI. Unfortunately the combination of heavy usage and trench warfare took its toll on the inherently weaker extraction of straight pulls. Only the Mannlicher 1895 didn't seem to have problems in that situation. That demonstrated that a robust and reliable military straight pull could be done, but Austria lost the war and was basically canceled from the map, so the Mannlicher action became only a curiosity and, in WWII , all the residual bolt actions used were manually rotating bolts and, with the end of the war, it had became an identity. Bolt action = manually rotating bolts.

I’ll bet that rifle will shoot sub MOA with heavier ammo. In the neighborhood of 175 to 180 grain range. Beretta states the 308 has a 1:10 twist ratio. That tends to stabilize heavier bullets better.

New rifle ,3 shot groups mostly under an inch. A very accurate rifle for hunting purposes. A better shooter might be able to get slightly better groups but a pointless exercise really. Once it is run in it may shoot better or worse. I have rifles that like having a dirty barrel and others that must be spotlessly clean or they shoot like crap , in particular if shooting pure cooper projectiles like Barnes TTSX. nice rifle would have one tomorrow but do not need any more rifles and haven't won lotto.

Well done Beretta, they "copied" the R8 Blaser and managed to make a good shotgun at a low cost but in my opinion the Blaser R8 is better, it costs much more but it has all the perfect features and Blaser also has years of experience and has also tested the 375 H&H with the same system and it works very well, however Beretta did well to build the "BRX1" rifle, well done.

Great video as always. There are quite a few straight-pull rifles nowadays, have you handled some of the others? Do you have a favourite? As far as the safety, most of the high end European manufacturers offers a manual cocking system instead of a traditional safety. I love that feature and would not be without it on my primary hunting rifle.

Keep your hand ahold of the bold handle at all times with your thumb and index finger, and use your ring finger to pull the trigger. You'll cycle way faster and more efficient and your ring finger will pull the trigger more gently allowing better accuracy. This has been my experience. Same technique some of the brits used with the Enfield.

Faster but more safety concerns. Why beretta put all kinds safety modes on this. The loading of a round, the carrying of round in chamber, bumping the bolt. Is it a new take on old bolt-action but is it needed and worth the cost. No
