Watching this right after Ozzy announced that he was retiring from touring. I was lucky enough to see him three times in my life and it’s a shame that it had to end this way. Hopefully he keeps recording albums at least and he’ll be with us for a little while longer. Seriously one of the greatest rockstars who ever lived. Rock on, Prince of Darkness. 🤘🔥

I'm so glad Zack didn't just butcher and go crazy during the solo. He kept it pretty true and it sounded great. One of my favorites!

He went crazy just a bit but hey that's Zack lol. Everytime i hear this song i get a little choked up Randy was just one of the greatest and to this day I wonder what might of been.
@RVRV-mz8yw Жыл бұрын
He did a good job, but I don't think it is possible to perfectly imitate that solo like Randy did it. Everyone has their unique technique and style which is the hardest thing to imitate, notes can be learned off of a tab, but the feel is as difficult to match as is one's unique personality :)
@RVRV-mz8yw Жыл бұрын
If you listen carefully, you will hear that Randy had amazing clarity between individual notes, even at the blistering speed section, without all of the effects that Zack is using.

Yesterday has been and gone Tommorow will I find the sun Or will it rain? Everybody's having fun Except me, I'm the lonely one I live in shame I say goodbye to romance, yeah Goodbye to friends, I tell you Goodbye to all the past I guess that we'll meet, we'll meet in the end I've been the king, I've been the clown Now broken wings can't hold me down I'm free again The jester with the broken crown It won't be me this time around To love in vain I say goodbye to romance, yeah Goodbye to friends, I tell you Goodbye to all the past I guess that we'll meet, we'll meet in the end And I feel the time is right Although I know that you just might say to me "What you gonna do, what you gonna do?" But I have to take this chance Goodbye to friends and to romance And to all of you, and to all of you Come on now I say goodbye to romance, yeah Goodbye to friends, I tell you Goodbye to all the past I guess that we'll meet, we'll meet in the end And the winter's looking fine And I think the sun will shine again And I feel I've cleaned my mind All the past is left behind again I say goodbye to romance, yeah Goodbye to friends, I tell you Goodbye to all the past I guess that we'll meet, we'll meet in the end

Goodbye to romance is reflective of Ozzy’s journey in the song: he leaves his old bandmates and thus his past behind, and is able to start moving towards a brighter future with Randy and the rest of the band. The song was written on the heels of Ozzy’s firing from Black Sabbath, at the absolute lowest point of his career. 😊

Im 47 years old and I believe that we are the last of a generation that actually experienced getting out and meeting people and riding our bikes 20 miles to our favorite watering hole. You actually had to talk to people to get to know them and there wasnt a phone that you could learn all about someone in seconds. Instead, it took years to build a friendship!! And through it all I would carry my boombox everywhere jamming Ozzy and Beastie Boys!! I miss those days terribly!!
