Growing up I wasn't allowed to listen to Ozzy too much because of his supposed connection to satanists but now that I'm a mid thirties adult I've re-discovered his music and really don't understand what all the fuss was about. His music relays a lot of real life messages especially dealing with mental health, drug abuse and recovery. I don't get negative connotations from his music instead much the opposite.

Lots of different keys, here. - The Paris 1970 is actually D# - they'd already gone flat just after Paranoid. - Then for most of the mid 70s it was all in C#, so that's the Cal Jam 74 (and Live At Last and Asbury Park 75) - Then by 76 (78 NSD live in the vid), they'd gone back to standard tuning (for whatever reason!) so it's in E and so is Snowblind etc! - Early solo Ozzy is also in standard tuned E (US fest - was this the last time it's in E ever?) - Live Aid is back to D#. - He stays in D# after that, including the reunion - don't know much post 2000, but I think The End is in D but Sabbath Ozzfest shows 2004 etc were in C#? He certainly seems to improve more recently, but that's likely the power of modern mics!

He actually sounded good in 2019 before all he'll halted. On this latest album, he sounds amazing. Just the fact that he's still jamming to paranoid for 50 years is insane and it never gets too old, even on the not so good nights. To it, it's Ozzy, he is a legend and global icon, so the facts are in- it's in the crowd and it seemed like he was happy solo more than with Sabbath around the end. They to red nearly to death.
@jacobgriffin35793 жыл бұрын
Honestly, Sabbath’s music never sounded as good as Ozzy’s solo career. They didn’t have enough sound diversity or story elements, and I don’t get where all the praise comes from. I’m just glad he’s apparently been working a new album that’s supposed to have longer songs on it.
@gen-x-zeke84463 жыл бұрын
@@jacobgriffin3579 Listen to "Children of the Grave" "Symtom of the Universe" and then "Changes" "Embryo" There's an instrumental song on the 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath' album. "Paranoid" and then "Planet Caravan" People don't give Ozzy enough credit for the artist he is. They do that because he fumbles his thoughts and words (as we all know). But, when it comes to music he comes up with awesome melodies from out of nowhere which normally is a process of a lot of writing. He just starts singing whatever and then Tony Iommi and Geezer took care of the music and lyrics. *But listen to more Sabbath. I'm not arguing but they are truly very diverse. People say the "Gods of Heavy Metal" and they say, "Hold my 'Snowblind". You can hear some Sabbath influence in Ozzy's solo work, which again he co-wrote many of the songs. People think he's a loaf of bread, but the guy has 50+ years of music/song writing experience. I mean, really, how is that even possible?! LOL I'm just grateful to be an Ozzy fan. He makes a switch when he gets in the studio, which is another thing people skip. I appreciate your comment, and it is tough to decide but putting it all together; how many songs has Ozzy sang in those 50+ years (including collaborations)? It must be around 200 or so. Add on all the Live shows, rehearsing. *I have a lot of knowledge of Ozzy as I have been listening to his music since 1990 @ 12 years old. I am now 43 and the songs still sound current-especially the 'No More Tears' album. Ozzmosis was awesome. Black Rain had some Sabbath in there. These current songs sound current and they have touches of some classic songs-'Ordinary Man' is a great album. I'm sure his next will be great. He just loves music and we love listening to Ozzy's brilliant ideas. I think he helped with more lyrics than people realize as some Sabbath songs are a sharp turn, such as "the 'Sabotash' album where apparently he wrote the "Writ" song with clocks in @ over 8 minutes. He suggested and melodized 'God Is Dead?' and they didn't want to do it, but holy fuck is that song heavy. I better stop there. I get carried away due to Mania. I hope you understand musical interchange. Sabbath were likely the masters of the craft.

Just my opinion, Steve Perry is the best vocalist of all time. Not that Freddie isn't an amazing singer though.

Let's not forget that Ozzie was paid a lot of money to play the fool on that ridiculous show. He is nothing like that in real life. People expect him to behave in a certain manner now-- pity as he's an intelligent man,

@@pinkwormonstring4499 What rubbish. The house wasn't his. The whole show was scripted and rehearsed . Fact. When are people going to start sorting fact from fiction. Too much fun for some people.

@@ilikevideos4868 I'm a big Sabbath fan and no doubt Ozzie was heavily into the booze and drugs. With a savvy wife- look into her background- he's dined in it ever since. Don't believe everything apart from the earlier years. I love Ozzy the singer in one of my favourite bands- just can't stand the make over he's had in the last 20 or so. John Osborne is an intelligent man, but why let facts get in the way ....

Not a bad thing. It’s the same as reverb or distortion. Also, no it’s not. The pitch might have been stabilized (even that’s a stretch), but it was very little and was done well
@BeardyGit893 жыл бұрын
@@joshdoesstuff763 it's not done well if it's obvious, and how the hell is it the same as distortion or reverb at all? They're effects, they aren't just tools used to cover up mistakes or lack of skill.
