You did it again Requiem. You have a great knack for knowing what really need. Your P-47 content shows how to match and use the right tool for the right job. Maybe I'll understand why this fighter was so successful or why the famous 56th FG (all Jugs) refused to upgrade to P-51's.

Great video as always! Just a word of advice, a times in the video was hard to hear your voice (at least for me) as it was covered by the engine noise. You might want reduce the game noise by a touch.

Thanks for the heads up on that Psycho, I do try to get the game/voice volume adjusted right but I think my voice tends to taper off at times through a video. I'll keep doing my best to avoid the problem.

Great video. Hope to give these tips a try soon. I noticed you seem to be able to maintain about 2700 rpm during your flights in the p47. Any more tips about how to get the best performance from it?

Well the 2700 RPM is the combat setting so it's only good for about 15 minutes or so. For best performance fly lazy (gentle on the stick with no high G turns), keep the oil shutter and intercooler at neutral with minimal cowl flaps.

Would be nice if you could make a low level bombing tutorial one day. Not persé for the P47 in particular but for fighters in general, you know, the trick where you drop your bomb when the target dissapears under your nose.

I have some other "foolproof" examples of dive bombing in the works like what you see for the Luftwaffe aircraft with a REVI.

Could you maybe one day make a video regarding fighter bombing or assault plane bombing (like IL-2, Bf-110 etc)? Or even with Pe-2, not level bombing but low alt shallow dive bombing (The lines with degrees on Pe-2 some sort of guide for aiming?). Or these types of bombing in general. I don't understand how I am ever supposed to aim for a target. Is it pure guesstimate?

Hey Roy, I like to try and model these ground attack videos off the actual procedures they used at the time. If you have any for those airplanes let me know and I can get on it. I'll look into creating some ground attack videos with those planes though. The lines on the Pe-2 show dive angles, so you would reference them initially in your dive with peripheral vision while you focus on the target. Knowing when to release can be kind of a guesstimate at times, but with practice it becomes an "educated" guesstimate and you can hit the target more often than not provided you consistently make your attacks in a similar way.

My first attempt at dive bomb in the P-38, I blew myself up from the bomb blast. Had a wing fly off shortly after.

Thank you for all the time you spend creating these videos. I downloaded the mission and put it in my game folder. When I try to launch it in when I create my own dog fighting server in multiplayer, the folder is empty. When I tried to open it in the mission editor, I received a message that there was an error opening the mission file. Any advice from anyone is much appreciated.

That mission is a single player mission, so it's not created to work in MP. Delete the .msnbin file then open the mission again to resave it to make it work.

But there isn't a tutorial like this one without lines for general applications for... where is my aim point, from this altitude I release at X altitude, vice 16sec with wing lines... It's a shame hardly anyone has given the P-38 any love because it's so easily seen and destroyed in the game. Cheer Req.. let me know if I need to convince Rap....

I use either a 3 or 5 second delay most of the time.

Yeah it always points to the nearest station. In single player you'll usually have one at home base, but in multiplayer there could be multiple depending on the mission designer.
