Hey Tim, feel like things are finally returning to normal, put in a lot of effort the past couple of months, I’ve experienced paws for a over a year now, I exercised, got sun, barely touched caffeine, limited sugar, its been a battle on and off for over a year but I feel like I’ve finally defeated the thing that has put a strain on my life, it was this video that really gave me a game plan to battle paws. Much love to you brother. Omer

Your video is such a gift for me😥 Im 1,5 years clean now (3 years heavy use of weed, cigarettes and alcohol). First few months beeing clean were horrible. It was the hardest time of my life😣. Now Im better. The waves of brainfog and anxiety are comes and goes. Some days are good, some days are bad. Im 70% better than at the beginning. It heals very very slowly. Im 3 months clean and the brainfog/lack of energy and motivation sucks, but it does get better i was 2 and half years clean before and felt AMAZING. You are right eating healthy and exercise is what kick started all of my symptoms to diminish. PAWS really needs to be studied and researched more because this is the main reason people would relapse, you feel like life isnt real and feel so weird during paws. Atleast thats how i felt.

@@saul8633I went cold turkey too. I felt so hopeless also in those earlier months but think about all the damage we have done to our brains. Our dopamine balance is so fucked up because of the opiates. It takes a long while for it to get better. Just go day by day knowing each day is one step closer to your normal self. Your best friend will be excercise and clean eating. It will heal your brain faster and boost your brains recovery. Congrats on choosing sobriety! You got this bro!

You are so correct brother. Everything our body does is by rhythm, just like the rest of nature. So like you said, the duration of PAWS is in part due to the duration and we spent using, it’s like a shortened shadow of the use. But our withdrawal off drugs and toward homeostasis is in a rhythm as well, it can seem like a rollercoaster at times, but it’s essentially a sine wave that gradually smoothens out over time. It’s as if our brains and bodies are over correcting again and again until we find continuous homeostasis again. The amount of acute withdrawal seems to depend on the duration and severity of the addiction; which then corresponds to the amount the body over corrects into pink cloud syndrome, which then relates to how deep we go back into PAWS, which happens over and over, in windows and waves until we’re finally just resting comfortably along the center line of the graph again. I like to imagine a sine wave on a graph, the center line is homeostasis, and each dip and rise above this line equates to the amount of pink cloud and PAWS we experience until the wave smoothens out back into the middle. And again, it seems to be irregular and different for everyone, but this tends to be the way of withdrawing - a period of hell followed by natural highs followed by discomfort until true homeostasis is achieved. Great video, though, great advice. Exercise and diet are tops.

the internal temperture regulator is the first thing to fix itself. the real monster is not the first few weeks, its the months and possibly years of severe depression and lack of happiness. humans dont do well with no sense of happiness for long periods.. magnesium citrate helps for constipation. homemade lemonade made with stevia is a good cell flush.

Thank you for this video Tim. The Everything you said is 1000% percent right at least to me . I was at half of a half of 1mg for 6 weeks. I could go up to 60 hours with nothing . I’d take just crumbs and then dust . I couldn’t taper any lower . Yesterday it hit me . It’s PAWS. I made myself go grocery shopping , mostly for the exercise. My Gastrointestinal pain was a big .problem . Everything I was eating and drinking , was everything on the list of foods to avoid while detoxing from Suboxone. Mid morning was what I couldn’t get past . So now I’ve Stopped drinking coffee and Gingerale. I’m sticking eating and drinking the foods and things that Mother Nature suggests and it really helped . 🇨🇦👋

Ive been addicted to a large variety of drugs since 15. When i hit 40, i got off oxycontin and other horrible things, went on suboxone. Im off everything now for about 4 months. Sometimes Ive been feeling amazing but then.... Boom.... Feel awful again. Feel crap right now. Careful if you drink large amounts of caffeine cos it could trigger or re-trigger symptoms. I started drinking white tea instead (heatlthy and very low caffeine ) and the symptons just went away, felt great but the shop I was getting em from sold out for ages so i thought il have some Earl grey tea just for a bit, and now they came back and feel worse than ever. Such a rollercoaster for me, very frustrating. Also this week is the only week when I havent done a fast, so highly recommend fasting, it deffo takes away the severity of symptoms.

Great video my friend. I’m currently battling with substance abuse problems, and am currently on day 5 of withdrawal. I feel I’m through the acute stage, but the anxiety and sense of hopelessness is crippling. The fact I have 2 daughters and a job I can’t really walk away from has helped me grind through the first 5 days. Granted it’s been hell, but I’m not dead so I continue to push on. This video was very refreshing and comforting. I think being in nature and replacing deadly habits with healthy ones will be the ultimate key. Thanks again and I’ll continue to follow you going forward... 🙏🙏

I deleted about 90 percent. no more sugar excesses. I think it helps against the mood swings. Sport in the fresh air is also helpful. I definitely do not feel worse after a workout than before ... stay tuned, it can only get better!

Tim. I am 6 weeks into PAWS as a result of using Tramadol for 12 years. The anxiety is debilitating. Your video is a thorough explanation of what to expect. Although it is the last thing I wanted to hear, it's spot on from your experience. In this video you bring up antidepressants. With my lack of serotonin and dopamine would going on a SSRI help or delay my journey towards homeostasis? My state of mind is not good. I haven't slept more than 4 to 5 hours per night and the uncomfortable anxiety is debilitating. My MD did put me on Buspar for the anxiety but I'm really sure if that even helps or stunts my PAWS. The thing with ssri drugs is they don’t increase the amount of Serotonin you have they just ration it’s use so you have a small constant supply! I know it’s hard and takes time but look at natural ways like diet and your micro biome . Serotonin is made in the gut so pre and probiotics are really important! I increased my dopamine with daily exercise ( even though you may not feel like it) and cold showers/ and breathing exercises. Look at Andrew Hubermans videos on you tube re dopamine. Ssri drugs are a sticking plaster but won’t solve paws and will create another issue ie coming off ! Stick at it my friend I promise it will get better 🙏🏼 Good luck

@@TimJohnsonrecovery Thank you for responding Tim. I've been so despite thinking I can not sustain this feeling longterm. This is the worst thing by far that I've ever encountered. I am going to try acupuncture in 3 weeks. A friend swear by it but I'm skeptical. Last thing question for your advice. The Buspar. Will it work once I get a blood level? It states it treats anxiety by balancing the levels of dopamine and serotonin in your brain, but I have none in my brain correct? Also it has something to do with noradrenaline...to me thats a stimulant???? Thanks for your time. Your video are so much more informative than any medical video I've seen. Take care.

Buspar is an alternative to diazepam for anxiety! It works differently ie diazepam works on GABA and Buspar binds to serotonin receptors. It’s normally takes 3 or 4 weeks to kick in ! You will be making serotonin and dopamine now after 6 weeks of stopping Tramadol but won’t be back to normal I shouldn’t think after a long period on opiates ! Buspar works also on your nervous system, slows heart rate etc so will regulate noradrenaline! As particularly after opiates your noradrenaline is revved up hence insomnia! The only thing I would say re Buspar is that if your on it for a while you will experience withdrawal symptoms( insomnia, rebound anxiety, muscle cramps, sweating etc) so you have to reduce slowly! I’m sorry but honestly the only way to do this in my experience is to use natural methods ie diet, exercise etc etc and only time heals you. I know how hard it is believe me but it’s so worth it in the end . Keep fighting and stay strong my friend. Also acupuncture is great for homeostasis and rebalancing the body and mind ! Good luck 👍

do you think when it comes to benzos, my last regular dose was June 2018 but my last true dose (after months of not having it ) was October 30th 2018 (thats when my withdrawal really kicked in) and I had only been using it sparingly when i was like 1-2mg a week or sometimes 1-2mg a month thats it, so would you think i should still be experiencing withdrawal April 2019? It doesnt make sense to me, i mean i was on klonopin since 2013 but like i said i only used it once a week at most but usualy once or twice a month.

I was on the Vicodin not feeling good and also stuck in my town because I was starting to get panic attacks. You got this my guy! Hey I have a question . So I been off subz and all opiates for 2 months now and still feel off . If I switch back to my oxycodne and not take sub ever again . Would I detox faster from oxy ? Or eventually have to face the sub with drawl because short acting is faster detox I can handle a couple weeks of wd
@TimJohnsonrecovery

Thats a difficult one Drake. Suboxone has a longer half life. I would recommend you taper down Suboxone really slowly rather than start taking oxys again. Whichever way you will experience some withdrawal but a slow taper from Suboxone is much better than withdrawal from oxys good luck my friend
