Keep pushing forward folks. I quit 10/8 and still working at it. I’m 68, female and it is a work in progress. I started exercising, drinking more water and even gave up CBD. It’s super hard, but each day I’m grateful for everything. Gratitude that you have this chance is foremost. I cried, was agitated and suffered insomnia, hot flashes and stress, but it’s better each day. I have great days and not so great days-there are no bad days through the grace of God and the opportunity I’ve been given.

I left at 9am and came home at dinner time. We had great conversations and it took my mind off of my physical symptoms and I didn't really start feeling crappy until 8am. Feels like a fever and chills and I have no appetite )I could lose some weight, lol....LOVE that part. I am GOING TO MAKE IT THIS TIME! Smoking weed ALL the time got HARD. Waves of extreme fatigue, face feeling flush, anxiety through the roof, etc. And this is with making huge changes like NO sugar or carbs or alcohol, down 25 pounds, eating amazing whole healthy foods, exercising like a maniac, etc. I was just “joking” to a friend that I felt better when I was fat and stoned. i’m going to keep pushing ahead, but damn this is way harder than I ever imagined it would be. I lost tons of weight ( I went from 140 pounds to 108, I’m a short guy) and throughout the years (18-31 years old) And I stopped smoking weed a couple times for months at a time and felt great but relapsed each time. I had horrible acid reflux and it changed the way my gut reacts to food. But after quitting I always got better and I always denied that it was the weed but now I know I will not touch it again as a daily user and will take at least 2-3 years off completely. It’s very unfortunate that society does not talk about these issues pertaining to chronic cannabis use. Thank you doctor !

I’m from Amsterdam, weed and hashish easily available from puberty onwards. Been smoking hashish from age 17/18 till 25. In the beginning usage was not so heavy but it progressed to daily use for +- 5 years. Have quit twice for a couple of months in the past few years. Relapsed this year to about 6 months of heavy daily use (5-8 joints a day). Quit again 3 weeks ago. This time it seems like withdrawal is way more heavy than the previous times. No reduction in symptoms so far: Insomnia, feeling weird inside my body, touch feels weird and distant, anxiousness, depression, no appetite or sexual arousal, eyes feel weird and slightly painful sometimes, clouded mind, lack of concentration, racing thoughts, mood swings. Quit cigarettes and am processing deep relationship patterns at the same time. No substance cravings whatsoever. Cardio helps, I choose to just play with a football alone instead of running alone, more fun. Napping multiple times a day when tired for 20 min max to avoid disruption of circadian rhythm. I also imagine movie characters (from childhood) as a hold-on when times get tough. The events they conquer are usually more significant than my addiction recovery in my eyes. Thank you for everyone that commented, good to know I’m not alone in this. Stay strong, love.

@@magooosy Thanks! It's been a looong time, a lot of attempts, and a shift in mindset that helped me to realize nic was re-triggering my thc addiction and vice versa. Whenever I kept one in my life it would eventually lead to the other being used again whether it was weeks, months or a year+. It was just a matter of time. Usually its the fact that I'll get down on myself for being addicted since both affect my self worth, say fuck it, and justify using the other putting me back at square one. I'm a man of absolutes and both make me feel weak, powerless, and inadequate when I'm using them and have done so for years without bringing any positives to the table. Don't give up. Listen to yourself and don't be afraid to stick up and fight to be the version of you that you want to be. The biggest shift has just hanging around this channel and letting myself go from being brainwashed by addiction to being brainwashed out of it. Feels like every vid I watch from Dr. Frank puts another tool in my toolbox and helps me separate the addicted thoughts from the ones that align with who I actually am and is giving me a confidence in sobriety that wasn't there before. Sorry for the ramblings. Hopefully that mostly made sense to everyone else on this planet lol.

Thank you for speaking about this, there is barely anyone speaking about the fact that you can experience PAWS from weed. Most people think you can only experience it from heavy drugs, and before I posted on the /leaves subreddit after 2 months sober describing my symptoms, I thought something was very seriously wrong with my brain and body. As you said, no one in my real life believed me, and people I know that have quit weed before told me there is no way that withdrawal symptoms from weed last longer than a few weeks. This video is pretty accurate. Another important part is social circles. Most cannabis users have friends that use cannabis as well. After quitting the drug, one may become lonely because firstly these so called friends will try to convince you to use cannabis, if you resist, they will slowly ignore you or you will ignore them. As a result, you may become lonely, and making new sober friends might seem difficult and it takes time to make lasting relationships. Hang in there friends.

I’m now at 2 weeks with no cannabis use after 14 years of smoking. During the lockdown I was smoking as much as 3.5g a day and deluding myself that it was helping to deal with my problems rather than just numbing me to them. Some days have been easier than others so far but I’m feeling much happier, confident and true to myself. Good luck to everyone going through the same process, we got this guys!

On day 7 after 7 years constant smoke (I grew up near Humboldt in California so weed was everywhere) my list of symptoms are diarrhea, anxiety, panic attacks, pins and needles, increased heart rate, stomach issues, Loss of appetite (feels like gerd lot of acid reflux) went to the hospital today they said it was anxiety. But these videos help so much I feel like a lot of other doctors don’t understand cannabis withdrawal but what do I know I’m not a doctor. Looking forward to 1 month clean and then 1 year and so on (day 6 was the worst so far)

Yes, 4 days after quitting I felt tired beyond belief but had the idea that if I laid down I wouldn’t wake up, led to panic attack and went to hospital. A million tests and checked out normal and finally figured out what the cause of the attack was the next day, and that was such a relief . It’s been four months now and steadily better but still a ways to go. I still only have half a days energy before I am actually forced to nap for 20 mins . At the beginning I slept for 6-8 hrs during the day. Caffeine and alcohol only serve to make me feel worse, I suppose because my system is in such disequilibrium. Stay strong it gets better , I kept a log book so I could read it over and see my improvement more easily and that helped me.

I quit because I was feeling the severe symptoms of chs and I can say now that the symptoms have died down a bit but I still get very nauseous whenever I go out or look at a plate of food. I feel as if I get anxiety when it comes to just going out or doing anything because I’m worried I’ll feel sick. Such a hard concept to grasp that it can be so beneficial to some people, yet so harmful for others. I think this is what makes it so hard to quit also, The mentality that it is a "medicine." I think after 20 years of abuse I became allergic to it. I get near anaphylaxis symptoms sometimes after a hit or two, and that was enough finally to scare me into stopping. Just crazy everything I wished for smoking at a younger age has come true with regards to quality, quantity, and legality...yet I can't enjoy it now. The high just isn't worth all the shitty symptoms I get. The part you said about cannabis messing with your pain receptors in spot on. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and smoking only made the pain worse. Makes me think cannabis was the cause of this unexplainable pain. All I know is the paws can't be any worse than the feelings of anaphylaxis and feeling faint, weak, dizzy, spastic, breathless, throat closed up, extreme chronic pain, jaw issues, heart palpitations and chest pain etc etc. I hope some day I feel better. Who knows maybe I really do have fibromyalgia and won't get better...but a big part of me thinks it's the cannabis screwing with my system that caused all my issues. Thanks for the video

@FacelessOnes I can confirm the heart palpitations and odd symptoms of my heart skipping beats has fully stopped. I've had a few panic attacks since but nothing like when I was high. I used to follow a post acute withdrawal symptom forum and alot of people said it took them 1 to 2 years to start truly feeling 'normal' again. So who knows maybe in a year or two I'll actually feel somewhat better. I mean 20 years of use all-day everyday surely took its toll

Physical withdrawal can last for months because quitting tanks your estrogen levels, and it can take 3 months to recover healthy levels. This means you could have physical symptoms that look similar to menopause, since menopause symptoms are a result of lowering estrogen levels. This is usually worse in women. Low estrogen affects temp regulation, joint pain, brain fog, headaches, insomnia. Notice these are the same symptoms people get during the first two weeks or quitting cannabis.

Wow, very interesting. I have too stop drinking & smoking weed for a test. It is so hard, only 2 days left. It’s horrible. I’m retired so life is boring, lonely, for me, especially our world these days. Thank you!!

Annedonia is the correct word I've actually experienced this when I was quitting crystal methamphetamine and everything you're saying doctor is correct I am sick right now I have a flu but the good part about it is I am getting better I'm on day four now and I'm going to stop counting some but I'm still understanding and realizing my reality that it is not going to be easy but it does get better

So my friend is 68 years old and has never been off substances, started at 17 with heroin, switched to illegal marijuana and then alcohol. He says he has never been ill, has no physician, never had a physical, feels wonderful all the time and would never give up being drunk and high, drives all the time. Says he has plenty of energy. I told him he should consider giving it up and he told me to stay out of his life or he would have to cause me some pain. He said he feels great all the time and I am just jealous. Is this all possible?

...and doesn't THC hangout in body fat as well? So every once in while for the first couple months, your body is gonna be releasing that THC, which probably leads to cravings right? I'm really appreciating these videos. Its helping me get through these first few days. I'm thankful this info is so easy to access! Thank you for all the recording/editing!

@@FacelessOnes I think somewhere around the 3 month mark for me. I starting feeling like I wasn't really wanting it anymore. The hardest thing is the mental stuff...its like cigarettes...the idea of being stoned is always more fun than actually being stoned. (...and really...people just get used to stoned state...its a known entity...if you suffer from depression like me...sometimes stoned is better than hopeless and at least I know what stoned feels like and how to operate while stoned. Sometimes I don't know how to move forward when depressed...)
