I’m no expert on this type of stuff but I think people have to look at it from a different perspective. At the time TI wasn’t a regular street dude he was one of the biggest artist in the world at the time and a cash cow for his label. They wasn’t going to let him sit down for that long. Those people and Ti are well connected and some calls and deals were for sure made behind closed doors that will never be spoken about.
