You know you're bad when it's 2016 and your old funkateers show up to see you, bringing the new generation (their grandkids) along, who know you by samples. Your heyday was the best time of my life. It was fun back then. The music, the album covers, the comic books, the concerts, the muther ship, the costumes. It was an psych-experience (without drugs) and good clean fun. No fighting or shooting....we were too busy funking and loving it. Thank all of you guys and the entire crew. RIP Bernie

bernie worrell is a fucking genius. completely pioneered synth funk basslines, synth leads, strings, classical and funk. check out the title track, tales of kidd funkadelic. absolute masterpiece that way ahead of it's time. not enough credit to these guys.
@EatPieYes9 жыл бұрын
Way ahead of its' time? Nah, if anything it's timeless! Such primal grooves mixed with spacey sounds. Masterpiece I agree on. It's like a goddamn Maggot Brain for synthesizers.
@BSIII9 жыл бұрын
EatPieYes true that, because it's still innovative. as fresh now, as it was then. for sure i agree with you.

Agree 100% That cut has like a zillion different potential Atari/Sega/NES video game beats, elements of 90's + new Jack swing/hip hop era synthesizer, Prince style era synth funk (Prince. In Love 1978), all in a 12min + modern classical symphony. A true musical painter/sculptor/architect/artist.

G.Clinton,W.Collins & B.Worrell, one of the greatest writing teams ever, with Lennon/McCartney,Page/Plant, Jagger/Richards,etc. right up there, and not nearly as recognized...when you saw that songwriting combo on the record you knew you was gonna be FUNKED THE FUNK UP! "P" 4 EVER babba!

Because George,Bootsy and Bernie were the main composers of the "greatest" P-funk era. When you boil it down, these three guys were THE driving force behind the success of Parliament/Funkadelic.

03:47 (They show Bootsy's name when the camera is on George, talking about people not getting credit of all things lol) Without skipping a beat, George then points to everybody and mentions their names. A little cosmic correction? Or did he see the slip up on a teleprompter somewhere?
