It's reassuring that the post-WW2 generations in Europe take this so seriously. When I was at Juno Beach a few years ago I met a young Spanish couple whose mutual passion was for Canadian military history- they were on their honeymoon, travelling through areas of France, Belgium, Holland and Germany where my father's and grandfather's generations expended so much blood and toil. They surprised the hell out of me- they knew more about the landmarks and various points of Juno Beach than I did. I was very surprised at that, a young couple from Spain. Now in this video I see a Frenchman with a set of bagpipes wearing the battledress of the Seaforth Highlanders. That's pretty cool.

J 'ai connu ce pont avec mes parents en 1960 à 4 ans et le piper de Lovat au salon du modele réduit porte de versailles;Bill Millin jouait pour une reproduction du débarquement en modèle réduit sur un bassin,je l'ai revu quelques fois en Normandie avant son décès ;en tout cas ,il y avait beaucoup de vétérans encore pour aller boire un coup au café Gondrée,enfin ça a bien changé là bas ,depuis ce temps

@@rigalpat7531 ce que je me demande,c'est pourquoi le pont n'a pas été laissé à sa place quitte à en reconstruire un un peu plus loin,pour laisser les voitures passer ;je ne vous dis pas le nombre de morceaux de ferraille que j'ai pu trouver sur place ainsi qu'une grenade mills que mon père a délicatement démilitarisée et qui trone entre des coquillages récupérés sur les plages Bretonnes ou je réside actuellement,à quelques kms de Batz sur mer.Bonne journée à vous

Bien peu de visite sur votre vidéo, alors que des conneries de vidéos sans intérêt font des milliards de vues. J'avais 18 ans la première fois que je suis allé sur les plages du débarquement et à Pégasus Bridge. c'était en 1982, le pont originel était encore en place. Respect aux vétérans et une pensée pour Richard Todd qui incarne le major Howard dans le Jour le plus long et qui dans la nuit du 5 au 6 était sous ses ordres et à participé à la vraie opération.
