P&H Scorpio kayak LV Mk1 Review and Sea Trial

I have the jura which is very similar to the scorpio mk2 and all i can say is the skudder is a revelation. I will never be able to paddle a kayak without it without feeling disappointed.

@@Scootchels yeah this system allows you to steer the boat with your toes while maintaining a forward power stroke and since the whole foot peg doesn't move forward like many rudder systems you're always able to brace consistently. Also since it deploys beneath the boat much more of the blades surface is in the water so it bites much harder. Really the only downside to this system is fine sediment like silt can work up into the system and fowl it so you want to make sure to clean it thoroughly after use.

I totally disagree with you about the seat. It’s the same as so many other “bucket” type ones that some manufacturers seem to think will assist the paddler. The back band is slightly behind and if you look at the lump on the seat where your coccyx would be, that means you’re sitting ahead of the band. Unless you have a ratchet strap, the band is useless

D. Allan interesting. I didn’t find it uncomfortable on a long paddle, but i suppose it’s tough for manufacturers to make a butt-bucket that fits all.

Without going to sea in rough conditions, launching and landing through surf, it is not a sea trial, nor is it a decent review. As it is, it's just another advertisement.
