Gawd what a voice! Too bad he didn’t read it in French. I had to do that in College. Tom’s voice combined with the most romantic language of all, HEAVEN!

What a gorgeous, emotionally rich poem, and Hiddleston brought it to life so perfectly it sent shivers down my spine. Thank you for this.

So excited to find this! Proust AND Tom. How “exquisite”!

KZbin algorithm suggested this to me yesterday of all days... this reflection on the pang of memory of a long passed time on the anniversary of a tragic loss of mine. Were it any other voice but this one, I may not have felt the meaning of these words on this day of days. It was like a message from the other side... honoring my fading memories of my dear departed one. Thank you for posting this.

That last poem got me to think about a cup of hot tea. It has been a while since I had some tea, cake, and sweet cacao. You do know how to make people drool. Don't you... 💙

This is a beautiful description of what happened to the food critic in Ratatouille.

But, this exact scene of the book, is the inspiration of what happened to the food critic in Ratatouille!

I was having a rather self-indulgent cranky bad attitude and then I clicked on this; and how very marvolus it is Proust and Hiddleston It's like my very pretentious version of peanut butter and jelly ❤😊

I want Tom to make the entire audiobook for Remembrance of Things Past, if only he wasn't one of the busiest working actors right now. It's between him and Benedict Cumberbatch. A distant dream perhaps.
It is disrespectful to an author to name/translate his major work after a verse of another writer (especially since they are in not way connected and living on either side of the Channel, 4 centuries apart). And just consider the translation "à la recherche du temps perdu" >> "Remembrance ...", what happened there?!
@vicdelta314153 жыл бұрын
I would say I both agree and disagree with you on this. I agree because it is obvious to the meanest of intelligence that a translated work can never even come close to the quality, flow, and elegance of the original, and I say this with no disrespect to the translators who put their heart and soul into their work, and this is the reason I disagree, that without a translation millions of readers will never be able to appreciate the greatest pieces of literature of the world.

@@Paroissien Oh alright, you did mention the title which btw I don't prefer as well. But I thought it was about the whole thing. Anyways thanks for clarifying. 👍
