I really miss seeing P&LE trains around my town ! The GE U-Boats were my very favorite as they blew Fire out of their stacks ! With the CHOK-A-BLOK engine sound.

This had such a unique broken horn that I remember catching with my dad in November 1990 in Buffalo. We didn't get the number, but thanks to this video, I now know this was it!

One time had a fleet of GE U28B's & purchased them in 1966.Several of these went to Transkentucky Transportation in the late 80's.The remainder of these were still operated until its demise.

Just saw a gondola from this company, I've heard of P&LE somewhat but never looked into it, it's kinda nice to know some rolling stock still lives at least, I love their paint scheme too

The P&LE is gone now ,the CSX bought the P&LE and took the employees put them on our roster. I as a CSX ENGINEER helped train them on our physical characteristics of the railroad I made a lot of really good friends with the employees of P&LE and I hope they feel the same about me !

That's good to hear, my dad was a P&LE engineer. in fact the one engineer on the first train shown.. once csx took over he stayed on former P&LE property in Aliquippa

@@woods840 staple? only at the end. I remember seeing a bunch of those U28Bs. In fact, I can not remember seeing the GPs. U28Bs and SW1500s is what I remember.
