I moved to Ireland 20 years ago and started to listen to Sinnead constantly. She introduced me to that melancholic Irish darkness and helped me to fall in love with this country. When my mom died I used to listen to this song non stop 😢 May your soul travel through the universe dear.

this is what i like to see right now, even though the grief is really immeasurable. Sinéad was our outspoken rebel from Dublin when Ireland was still at it's near most conservative, her voice and activism was a rallying call against interference from the Catholic church to an extent Italy or Spain never saw. the women suffered particularly, Sinéad herself found herself in a Magdalene laundry for the best part of 2 years. the Irish state has failed these women, and all the abused. O'Connor risked a lot to take a stand against injustice.

Wow oh wow, how beautiful this is. Sung with such passion and heart. It's almost as Sinead herself is singing. This world is so cruel and hard. So many people hold back because they are afraid of the judgement of others. It's easy to say just be yourself and do whatever feels good, but it's another to actually follow through. People like Sinead O'Connor are full of passion, talent, and live life how they want. But no matter how strong you are, people have a way of beating you down to where you feel like you don't matter. I believe that she either didn't realize or she forgot over time how much of a difference she actually made for people. Just listening to her makes a person feel more confident and makes you feel better about just being you. And while there are more people out there who are just as passionate, the world really does feel different without her.... I will never forget her and I hope her spirit has found peace. I also hope that her children find peace and healing.
