Páramo Aspira 360° Smock Review

I've still got, and use, an original Aspira smock from 2008. Good as new still, no need for an expensive replacement. The 360 idea is a good one but hellish expensive for most people.

Im a big Paramo fan, I have four jackets in total but £600 is just crazy. I get that recycling can be more expensive than starting from scratch but this is why most people don't bother, because it costs soooo much.

The prices are silly my brother had a paramo and I have army surplus sas black smock and a mtp lightweight goretex both cost 60 had them 5 years never been cold or wet been up Snowdon and ben nevis in all weather I think some times because the paramo brand is very popular like rab it means let's slap a massive price tag on it

Eh infomercials.. Please do some transparent waterproofness testing. It's hard to figure out how wet should I expect to be. Like, Ventile gets damp, too, or garments from Fjallraven g-1000 get damp after 30 minutes of moderate to hard rain. It would be useful to have time to get damp + time to dry up measurements in humid conditions I'm a long time Nikwax user and I am hopeful for Paramo, but it's not clear how effective it is

@@OutdoorsMagicTV Didn't see that one before. Thanks! Sorry for being jumpy and all. I heard you need a lot of reproofing to keep the Paramo wicking water away. How often do you reproof?

Reproofing depends on usage and storage. Use it a lot you need to re proof more. If I was going away for a few days and I was worried about the proofing I would just reproof it. You won’t harm the jacket by reproofing. At least I never have and I have been using them for 10 years.

Fantastic smock... I just don't like velcro pockets.. Wish that had used zips...

This has padding over the shoulders and in the lower back to help with wearing a rucksack.
