Re the "control" (attempting to simply rinse the dirt off with a hose), I have a suggestion - try to wipe the dirt off in the same way you did with the products. I.e - use the water in EXACTLY the same manner, to make the test more scientific. Since the dirt comes off so easily when using any of the three products under test, I will not be surprised if plain water works as well, or nearly as well. If it does, you could then perhaps explore whether long term use of water alone produces more marring, compared to a rinseless product solution.

This is one of the most comprehensive videos comparing these three products and your comments reflect very closely to my experience using all three. All can get you good results, but absolute definitely takes the user experience to the next level. Unmatched slickness compared to the others makes it ‘feel’ the safest IMO. I rank Absolute as my favourite, with ONR a close second and N914 third. A small note, I think optimum has discontinued the clay towel, carzilla must have stock remaining. The replacement for it is basically the ‘ultra clay towel’ from the rag company who took over the product from my understanding, which aside from colour is the same as the P&S reset towel.

That’s good to know I did hear somewhere that the rag company bought the rights to the optimum clay towel but I didn’t know the P&S towel is the same product.

Hello my friend. I have recently purchased and finished my first bottle of absolute and I am completely in love with it. I’m fairly new into car detailing, however I’ve really put the hours into KZbin and actual practice haha. I was on the fence with rinseless washing purely down to thinking it wasn’t a safe wash. I was so wrong. It in fact feels safer than a typical soap wash. This all started when I was getting fed up of a car cleaning session taking close to 2/3 hours so of course naturally you come across the rinseless technique as it is much quicker. My initial technique was using a citrus pre spray then using a bucket with 5 towels going around that way. I have since landed on citrus all over the car then I do my wheels then I rinse off the water with just a regular garden hose, as the wheels definitely do suffer if you don’t rinse them - pressure washer if I feel up for it. Then I go about my wash using the rag company ultra black sponge and it does a great job and there is just something that disturbs me while using towels and getting them unnecessarily dirty! The fact that you can miss an entire step of rinsing the soap off saves so much time and the finish it leaves…. So good. So slick and so clean!

ONR has something the others don’t two decades of proven effectiveness & safety. I’ve found ONR to be significantly safer & more effective than traditional washes. I’ve tried all of the rinseless washes and I still find ONR to be the best along with the DIY rinseless.

So useful to myself who isn’t a detailer as I’d like to know if I can use these products on some of the areas you’ve demonstrated these products use on. I also love how unbiased you always are in your reviews!!! Amazing job as always!!!

Excellent review, Thanks. I believe Absolute leave something on the surface and that is why it feels more slick, it's good if that is all you use but i wonder If you wish to apply some sealant after if it effect the bonding?
@DetailProjects
@DetailProjects 9 ай бұрын
To my knowledge they don’t leave anything behind that would affect a topper or coating, unless you chose a Rinseless washes that contains wax or are ceramic infused. If you are using just a pure Rinseless wash, It should be just fine to apply a sealant after.

I find that ONR does leave behind a very thin, light blue layer of "film" behind following the wash. Not sure if it's the "shine" polymers, but it doesn't seem to affect the performance of the sealant underneath.

Testing on a junkyard hood would be an excellent way to control and replicate detailing steps. You could even test the long-term effects of water-only rinsing by comparing it to different rinseless products under consistent conditions. Trying this over time, while controlling for factors like wiping pressure and drying techniques, could reveal how each method impacts paint quality, scratch resistance, and gloss retention. Factoring in environmental variables-like dust or temperature-could also help show how each approach holds up under realistic conditions. This would give a much clearer picture of whether water alone leads to more marring or if there’s a noticeable difference with product use." This version includes your original ideas, adds depth to the testing method, and considers environmental factors. It’s now both practical and thoughtful for a discussion about detailing methods.

I must add that ONR is a soy based product. After a while it starts to smell kinda bad. Absolute as you mentioned is polymer based. However it doesnt take away on how good ONR performs. I did find that Absolute left a slightly glossier look and deter dust settling on the car for a bit longer than ONR. All in all, you really can't go wrong with either or.

Excellent video! What I'm really curious about is how do these products compare to pure water. A 256:1 dilution ratio seems like nothing and its hard to believe they do anything at all. Love my ONR but I just saw a video of someone cleaning glass with just pure water with excellent results.
@DetailProjects
@DetailProjects Жыл бұрын
Water will clean anything no doubt, but what is important to remember is that water is a solvent and has no lubricant properties. Glass is a very hard surface and when you clean glass with water it won’t scratch like paint would. I don’t doubt you can get good results on cleaning glass with just water, but now if you tried to attempt this on your car’s paint surface and contact wash without lubrication you would definitely mark and scratch your paint. That’s where the rinseless Wash Solutions play a huge part in this. And as for the 256:1 dilution goes it’s plenty of lubricant but if your not comfortable you can always dilute 128:1 and then you really start to notice the lubricant. Hope this helps you out!

Im sure you are familiar with sheeting water vs beading water properties on a car. Both evacuate water from the paint. If you look at busted normal cars in a parking lot you will notice water just sits completely flooded on a hood. If you were to put pure water on a spray bottle and spray it on the hood, the water will stay flat and there will be no change. 256:1 in a different spray bottle. When you spray it on the standing water thats on the hood of a neglected car you will see the water start to bead up on the panel. Thats why some people use onr in a pump sprayer after theyve washed and rinsed a car, it will prevent water spots and make the drying process easier. ESPECIALLY on an unwaxed uncoated car. Drying with just a dryinf towel on an unprotected car is a bit tough and the towel gets grippy and streaky. A single trigger squeeze from a spray bottle is enough to make a dramatic difference in the ease of drying. Another great example is matte vinyl wrap. Any runs leave instant stains. You cant spray wax it or it will get very streaky. You cant just add more water because it will he streak like crazy and you will go trough towels like crazy. A small mist of rinseless gets rid of any runs and leave the wrap streak free instantly with out leaving a bunch of drying scratches.

Something that always gets dodged during Rinseless wash discussion especially ONR is, how does the product do at keeping the wash media clean after rinsing in bucket? ONR is awful at staining wash media and making it look like dirt just stays embedded in the fibers of the towel/mitt no matter how much it's washed and it's annoying, when there are } products like the McKee's and Gloss Shop Sublime that do a MUCH better job at releasing dirt from the media upon rinsing in the bucket during a 1 bucket wash. The only excuse of a reply I've seen from reps, is that ONR cleans deeper into the surface and removes more than just dirt 😒, but that's not answering the question because it is obvious the media will become dirty upon picking up dirt. The question is, why does it keep the media looking dirty no matter how well it's rinsed and washed vs other Rinseless products.

Check out Eddie Colons detailing channel, he explains this. It’s due to Polymer Types like P&S N ONR, but one that is Polymer based that cleans well is phoenix eod,so it just sounds like a “excuse to me”, Surfactant based types “clean better” N914, Sublime, DIY ETC…..

I have streaking issues with Absolute, my first Rinsless wash was with DIY and it was a LOT better, really wanted to like P&S Absolute, but the problems with the streaking, leaving residue behing and trouble with buffing it out totaly dismisses this product at least for me. DIY Rinsless also in my mind made the experience a lot faster as i think the added surfactants made the clean faster, and i am looking for the least contact = most effective method out there. P.S sorry to say but the smell of P&S was terrible for me, i hate pinacolada coconut scents...

Hi I'm a newbie. I have a garage but it isn't heated or have access to a water hose in the winter. So, once I dilute this product correctly in a bucket of water, I can just spray it onto my vehicle, then slowly use a soft sponge, then dry it off with a towel? That's it? Is that correct? So this product eliminates the pre rinse and post rinse you would do on a traditional 2 bucket wash? I keep thinking about how I'm going to wash my vehicle without a hose during the winter.
@DetailProjects
@DetailProjects Жыл бұрын
You got it! One important thing to remember especially in winter is that if your vehicle is covered in dirt salt etc. it’s always a good idea to pre wash it at a coin car wash and then apply the Rinseless Wash method in your garage. Do not go in with a Rinseless Wash if your vehicle is heavily contaminated.

I just used P&S Absolute and it does leave a lot of streaking and takes a lot of wiping to get it smooth to flash. I think the extra gloss is because the product is too thick. I noticed this with P&S Gloss detail spray as well. Even though I like the foaming of there interior cleaner, I wont be using these products again. I wanted to like this company, but so many of there products are draggy on the paint ~ I'm going back to the others I've used in the past. Be warned also, P&S Swift smells like melted creamsickles. Why in Gods name would they make a cleaning product smell like ANY FOOD item I will never know.

Yeah had the same experience with P&S Absolute, my first Rinsless ever was with DIY Rinsless and it was MILES better and easier to buff out (almost no effort) and the clean was amazing, the only thing it does a little (A LITTLE) better is the slickness of the paint after the wash, i must say it's amazing. But i wont be buying it again, and going back to DIY.
