Classical music is not just about the notes; it's about the stories and emotions woven into each piece. The way a simple melody can convey a range of feelings is truly remarkable. It's a form of art that speaks directly to the heart.

Oh the violinist!! 🎉BRAVO! He was heavenly in the Andante. I played it for 13 years and know how difficult that is. Not for a moment was I unsure whether he’d waver. Such vivaciousness and clarity. The oboe was also stunning! The whole orchestra was astonishingly outstanding. BRAVO 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤

I agree wholeheartedly. I loved the violinist too. I played for 13 years as a kid so could feel every note as well. He was so strong! Not for a second did I think he may be off note. Outstanding all the way around, but I would have liked the thrilling final scene, reprising the first theme of the ballet, to have been included - to make the biggest hero the composer himself, while still doing great honor to the great soloists.

This is one of the first works of classical music I came to love as a small boy. As I got older, I acquired what can only be described as snobbery and a bias against works like this. and Tchaikovsky. However, even though I didn't admit it to myself, I still loved them. Now I have reached a point where I recognize that striking poses and assuming attitudes such as those I took were false and vain. I love them more than ever now. Thank you.

For me, ballet music was the first story music. Movie scores are based on ballet music, IMO. Each conveys the story, the characters, the plot, and the action. As a child, when I first heard Tchaikovsky, I felt the story. The beauty, the magic, the passion, and the tragedy. When I discovered the records, I could not get enough of them. They made me aware of music in movies later on. So, I came to love Dmitri Tiomkin and Miklos Rosza. I wish movie composers were treated with the same respect and reverence as the ballet composers.
