Everything here was delightful and well done. Kudos to Mr. Farana - Patricia seems to have a stream of incredible accompanists! I agree that Patricia was especially wonderful in the Quel guardo. And the Flower Duet was superb - their first attempt to sing this in their prior recital was well done, but this rendition, I thought, was a major improvement. They both seemed much more relaxed and comfortable in this admittedly awkward kind of recital.

Most of her life Patricia studied and sang with Eva. What's fascinating is how close the voices are to another. Fusion it is. And beautiful how Patricia's voice grows in the lower regions.

Many thanks for letting me know about this, Robbi. The quality of the recording is much better than the previous TV concert. The Lakmé duet sounds much better this time. And the Quel Guardo, what a performance ! Acting as well as singing. And did you notice Patricia's winter coat ? Nice. As a Canadian, I know full well that this does not come cheap ! Good for her.

How utterly delightful - but, boy, it must have been cold in that church! I thought the Donizetti was especially glorious, and interesting to compare the Sull' aria with their performance when Patricia was just 15 - it's evident that the love and trust between the two of them is unchanged. Sensitive accompaniment too. And thanks to Boodysaspie for the time stamps.

This Sunday 1.10.2023, opera singer, musical singer and actress Patricia Burda Janečková died. She succumbed to cancer at the age of just 25.😪
