What if your BCV valve has no metal but you have a p0088 code what could it be?

Thanks for the video. 2012 f350 6.7 Im having trouble finding the icp and ipr. My fuel pressure is low then it surges then falls and keeps fluctuating. Changed the filter and it ran good after I purged it next start went to limp mode, terrible MPG and that surge again...could air be getting in somewhere or is it the icp or ipr

Would the pump squeel if bad?mine sounds like a bad pulley or belt,but replaced turbo recently could it be exhaust leak?
@jamesr.riverasr.46789 ай бұрын
I have the P228F, P0088 and every other startup, it says “reduced engine power” but it runs fine. All started when I replaced the fuel filters and had a air leak because of the pinched oring seal. Could it be possible that there is an air pocket still in there?
@stpdieselhoustondieselspec2649 ай бұрын
Air pockets can very well cause this issue. However these systems purge themselves. It should clear the air pocket while running. I recommend replacing those filters again & use only motorcraft filters. Tke care with the orings, if you damage them you will be in the same boat.

How much does it cost to fix this issue?
@jspivak865 жыл бұрын
How often do you see this type of failure? Would this be something that would die quickly or over time? I plan on buying a used 6.7 soon around 150k miles average. Is this something that I’ll likely have to fix? Trucks I’ve been looking seem to be running good at the moment. Just hope they aren’t a ticking time bomb... thanks man!

It is very costly repair when done correctly. It does vary from $11 to $13k depending on the extent of damage.

Good video. Thanks. My 2012 F250 85k New load of fuel and in 20 miles (probably sooner) had to stop at store then hard start long crank. Then noticed a bit of a squeal from under the hood. Pretty sure it’s the fuel pump. Refilled tank from half and squeal quieted down a lot. Added diesel additive too. Think my pump is toast? Thanks!
@jonvallone8107 жыл бұрын
Have all fuel filters been replaced every 10-15K miles?
@TheBarnbuilder7 жыл бұрын
Jon Vallone yes but it turned out to be a problem located between the truck and the fuel pump station. I put gas in the truck. All is well now. Thanks

Perfect timing seeing your video, Truck flash that code got it read at auto zone, drove it home & parked it. Getting it towed to a dealer, didn't want to cause any more damage by driving in a low power situation. Only have 28680 miles on my 2015 F350. I used the cetane booster with fuel-ups, does it really help. How long will your truck be down for this job. Sure miss driving it. Thanks Great Video

Just wanted to say thanks again for your video, got my truck into a dealer he stated almost exactly what your saying what a relief stroke, had to order a few parts for the whole fuel system, I guess clean the tank too. Hope to get it back soon miss riding in my truck.

To remove the pump on the 6.7, its awful crowded under the hood, lifting the cab off is how you can get to everything. At times when changing filters or watching levels wondered how you get to things

I have 2016 6.7 how often should I drain the fuel water separator? also whats your view on running Cetane booster in my fuel? Good video thanks for posting
@stpdieselhoustondieselspec2647 жыл бұрын
You should drain your water separator at least once a month bud. Running cetane booster on your diesel is one of the best things you can do to increase lubricity threw your fuel system and optimize the combustion process!!

My 2016 had the injection pump fail at 30,000 miles. Replaced under warranty - the service writer said this would have cost $6500 to repair. - I also had a bad torque converter at the same milage - more warranty work and down time. Would have cost $1800 to repair. Never again Ford.
