I don't know how they get away with using this technology still. It does nothing to reduce the amount of overall NOx the engine produces. It simply adds fresh are to the exhaust to fool sniffing equipment into thinking there is "cleaner" exhaust being produced by the engine. The engine is producing the same exhaust with or without this system.

So could I essentially unplug a failing one and not use it until I have the money to replace it in the future? Cause I think mines causing my car to lose power and stall when idling.

The replacement air pump sounded like a jet engine during engine startup. It failed after a couple of weeks. Cheap Chinese Crap is going to be the death of us all.

i missed where you described why you were doing the solenoid after you did the smog pump. maybe i fast forward past the explanation.

Do you disconnect the battery first before removing anything??

yes, and I place a rag over the end of the cable so it doesn't accidently reconnect.

Hi there! I was taking the rear hose off, and while moving a bit out of the way to remove the nuts, I heard a small crack and saw that the hose had snapped off. Any suggestions? Thank you!
@bbbjim1fixedit Жыл бұрын
if the hose itself broke you maybe able to get a heater hose the same size. if where it attaches broke off you may wish to consider super glue and sprinkle baking soda on it. I wish you the best

We all have our quirks. A trained voice over person would probably be clueless under the hood of any car, so I'll over look the lack of voice training here.

Question I replaced the air valve with a AC Delco one, but when I reconnected the black hose it does not fit over the port however it did snap in place. Should the black hose fit over the port cuz mine will not?

I am not sure, if the V8 engine uses this system; if you have the 6 cylinder the smog pump would be located on the drivers side mid way back under the vehicle if it does have one for your year.
