HEY CHRIS: WERE YOU EVER ABLE TO CHANGE A CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR WITHOUT REMOVING THE STARTER ON A 4 CYL 2.2L 2004 CHEVY MALIBU?
@markpalladino5724 жыл бұрын
I have a 2011 regal 2.4.and noticed small puddle of oil under car. There is a spot just behind the oil filter where some oil is sitting in. I first thought it was filter seal and replaced it making sure it was tight. I then cleaned any excess oil away. Sure enough it happened again. Now the sensor is below this but kinda hidden so I'm not sure how oil is getting just behind oil filter in the block crevasses if it's the pressure sensor, can you help.

@@fredaydaybae8450 Yeah. It's easy once you get under the vehicle and at least remove the terminal from the starter or better yet, remove the starter altogether.

i HAVE A 2004 MALIBU, 4 CYL WITH 205, 000 MILES THAT HAS A 520 CODE AND A 340 CODE, IS THE 340 CODE WHICH IS A CAMSHAFT CODE RELATED TO THE 340 CODE WHICH IS A CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CODE. THE 2004 MALIBU DOES NOT HAVE A CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. IT HAS A CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR WHICH WAS REPLACED WITH A DURALAST CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR 1 WEEK AGO ALONG WITH A USED TRANSMISSION. THE ENGINE HAS A MINOR ROUGH IDLE BUT IT NO LONGER STALLS OUT LIKE IT DID BEFORE I HAD A MECHANIC REPLACE THE TRANNY AND CRANK POSITION SENSOR. THE MAP SENSOR WAS ALSO REPLACED WITH A DURALAST MAP SENSOR.

Hello, I have a 2016 Malibu 1.5 turbo. I need to replace the oil pressure sensor, but I am having trouble finding the location for it. Any help will be appreciated.
@cdarnau3 жыл бұрын
It uses the oil pressure control valve to monitor oil pressure. It doesn't have a stand alone sensor.

You do not need to drain oil first. No oil will come out. I just changed mine and can verify this first hand.

my daughter has 2014 Buick regal oil pressure sensor needs replaced. It's a 2L 4 cylinder Turbo ecotec. I've looked for a diagram (still looking) can't find one, to know where it's located. I can't tell from top of motor and I didn't see anything near the oil filter or within 3 inches above it. At a loss here. Do you have any suggestions where to look? Thank you

@@petermeadows2611 Thank you! For now the problem is fixed. We took the vehicle to get the catalysts cleaned at a certain shop. They found out that exhaust manifold was broken and that it wasn´t the first time it happened. They welded the fissure, cleaned and renewed the catalysts and the check engine light went off. It had codes p0420 and p0520 (oil pressure sensor) I'm trying to cancel my order on RockAuto for the part, right now jajaja We will monitor the vehicle for now.

As an update the same guy called me up a couple months after I changed out the sensor. Leak fixed but starter motor must have taken a beating from all the oil and left him stranded in the parking lot in sub freezing weather! I went out and not even a jump start had enough juice to spin the starter with me hitting it at the same time!

Why don't you show how you removed the connector from the sensor before you removed the sensor. Not possible without getting under the vehicle and at least removing the connector from the starter to be able to remove the connector on the sensor. It's much easier if you remove the starter which, in itself, isn't that hard.
@cdarnau Жыл бұрын
I mean you can do twice the work if you want to. To remove the starter you need to disconnect the battery which always can leave you with a bad AC actuator when finished. It takes me 10 minutes to do this job. But if you have nothing else to do with for the day, go ahead and remove the starter. There are 100 ways to make a monkey dance, This is just my way.
@sblakeification Жыл бұрын
I was in the process of changing the starter when I changed the sensor so i was already in there. Perhaps a Terrain has less space?
