P0601 again? Check these before you install another PCM

Info from engineers suggest a few things that can cause the P0601 fault code. Simply replacing the PCM may not be enuff ..Listen to suggestion from EZTZ ASE Certified Chrysler Master Tech

I rmoved a sensor under my air intake on Dodge 20012 RAM. Cleaned its connections and the female recepticle with Electronics cleaner without pulling the sensor. Drove 20 miles, got a P0601. 601 would not go away. I reseated the connection on that sensor 10 times, did a little hookey jukey dance, disconnected the hot wire from the battery for 15+ minutes. Abrasively cleaned the battery terminal and connector. Powered up, Cleared codes w a scanner. Drive for 15 minutes - P0601 gone. Success! I am left with the original code P0138., which is to be expected, 601 clear. Now, back to the real issue.

Most dealerships will not flash a new program onto a new or refurbished PCM unless purchased from the dealership if you get it from AutoZone or O'Reilly's they will not warranty it if you purchase the new PCM from the dealership they will flash it with the new program and they will warranty it

Some years are plug and play and will simply work with any programming. Its the newer cars that you cant swap controllers

My 2001 caravan won't start. It sounds like its close to starting but just wont. I put a new battery in it and hooked it up to a code reader and got p0601 pcm needs replaced and reprogrammed. Although I seen this can keep a car from starting sometimes a car can run with this error. Any ideas? Could it be a fuse? Im planning on ordering the part tomorrow and just wanted to see if any automotive savvy ppl had any suggestions

went to the junkyard and swapped my 05 colbalt pcm. works good. cut was shutting off 10 plus times a day while driving, now it doesnt.

The only way ANYBODY can gain access to Chrysler programming is if they are an employee of a dealership or if there shop has a subscription acct with chrysler..Now the older cars, sure thats possible..Unless you have a SID number theres no way to get in sir..

it doesnt..all the customer want is it fix..I was at the Chrysler training center and the teacher made clear of being able to program computers..He assured me without a SID number, theres no way to even log in to perform the program..Somebody somewhere just simply using somebody access..Im sure the customer dont care about any of this like you mentioned.lol

I have oil in the wiring harness I cleaned it as best as I could changed out the computer and had it flashed also replaced oil sending unit but still getting oil through the wiring harness car is in limp mode and I can’t get it out tryed resetting the battery nothing also replaced the Tcm I have one code p0700 anyway I can replace the wiring harness coming from the computer?

Hello my friend, this is not good. Ive only had luck once with problems like this. Possible the oil has saturated the wires and the circuit currupt the modules.. Its simple hard to recorver from such damage. BTW what year is the car? also are you subscribed to the channel yet?

Mine start right up but I'm getting that p0601 code it misfires and burns a lot of gas I thought it was my oxygen sensor but there's no code for it eBay has them just send me your VIN number and they will program all you have to do is plug and go

Now, if your key is black, yes its plug and play..If your key is gray/silver then no, it will have to be programmed. Thats because you car is equipped with sentry theft sys. So your key/skim will have to be married to the used PCM
