P1 Introduction - The Playing Cards Walking Stick

I am revisiting a work I made in 2010. A walking stick made using playing cards. One similar was purportedly made by my great grandfather who was a blacksmith in the village of Komi Kebir in what is now Northen Cyprus. But the original artefact was lost, and it only came to my attention through the accounts of my relatives and in particular my late grandmother, Ekaterina. In this video I introduce the characters that make up part of a family mythology, and begin the process of documenting its making.

I skipped over here to your channel from Stavros Gakos’s channel for some unknown reason. It probably has something to do with being bored because I’ve been stuck in bed with some sort of viral cooties that have invaded my personal space. Nonetheless, I’m here. And the thumbnail for this video looked totally fascinating to me, because I had no idea what you were doing. Now that I’ve seen part 1, I must watch part 2! This is such a cool idea, I like the background story, I like the die cutter press, I like the die cutter (totally worth the money you spent just to entertain my inquisitive brain 😉) and I like the punched and scored cards. I can’t wait to see how this turns out!!! I just might have to stay tuned in to your channel!
