It seems these sleds mandate two joining pieces are cut and not a single piece shifted to the opposite side, True?

Thanks for this video! I have been looking for a good design for printing on a 3d printer for a long time, and now, finally, you have created it. Very good design, done wisely. Thank you for sharing this for free, it's a great favor!

The crazy thing is the extent to which the blades of the fan are absolutely not optimized. Just flat surfaces. A 3D printed one would have been amazing.

Great video, thank you. I was considering doing your mod, and while looking at my operator's manual, Low and behold, my cheap Ryobi DP101 has a quill lock built in!! , By way of the rotating depth stop ring (which the drill in the video does not have) you can lock the quill at any position. To lock the quill in any position, first lower the quill into that position, then rotate that depth stop ring all the way opposite of the zero end and lock it down- quill is locked. Rotating the ring backwards (toward zero) from where your quill is positioned allows the quill to move upwards, by the amount you turn the depth stop. Thanks to all the commentor's comments that inspired me look at the manual......

I bought one of the original little green ones absolutely eons ago when I started renovating my 1st house, believe it or not it was actually a good little saw that I still use today as it's bang on square after some serious abuse so it still sees some action for basic framing etc. Based on my experience with my little green saw I thought I'd buy one of the large orange models when I was re-building my cut roof as I needed to cut loads of 9x2s at angles etc, which were too big a cut for my little green saw. Wow what a piece of crap that orange saw was! It couldn't stay anywhere near square or calibrated to save it's life, completely put me off buying the Evo in future.

You need to make the under side of the level absolutely flat, because that is what it is calibrated against. It is nice if it looks good, but that part has to BE good. And make sure the vials are reading level.

Put a drop of vinegar on those screw heads, and then put a little wad of toilet paper them, also soaked in vinegar. Put some cling wrap around them and let them sit overnight. They should come right out.

I wasted half a spool, thinking my tolerances weren't sufficient. Turns out the mini rhombusd when it should have squared. The official documentation is still clueless about this possibility. Thank you for the video, but that didn't solve my problem, which is that the X axis is not perpendicular to the Y. The plate is fine. The arm of the X axis is at the end tilted forward a couple of degrees.
@SavvasPapasavva6 ай бұрын
Maybe you can ask for the part to be reprinted and sent to you. Either that or re assemble the section to see if any debits had made it offset. It's possible to get the mini printing well but it's a process of trial and error.
@dingdingdingdiiiiing6 ай бұрын
@@SavvasPapasavva For now I've resolved it so that I wedged almost 2mm thick piece of plastic between the aluminium extrusion and the printed plastic part that holds the Z rods. I could only eyeball it but even so, a 170mm square now has less than 0,5mm difference on the diagonals, before that it had about 2,5mm. It's not easy to keep everything perpendicular when you're adjusting it... But damn. I'm still a bit in shock this happens on a Prusa printer. I've been printing for a couple of years with the mini, haven't noticed this before. But it is the first time I've printed large part where squareness is critical..

I am a bit confused about the last improvement, "front facing mirror and a two way see throuh mirror" what is a front facing mirror? * 2 way see through mirror? Looked for the files on the web site, could not find them. Thanks and great work
@SavvasPapasavva7 ай бұрын
I rushed those bit at the end as I was conscious of how long the video was. I mentioned those materials also at 03:10 in the video. But the principle is that the front facing mirror which is fitted to the rear wall of the camera lucida reflects from the outer most surface and not the rear wall. And the partially reflective piece that is position diagonally inside, remove or lessens the double image created by reflection which I think is happening on the diagonal piece. I should have compared the views looking into the lucida to make this more clear but you can jump to time code 15:50 which there is a slight double exposure especially at the top of the candle, and 16:50 where the image is a lot clearer. Regarding the files - I will upload those tomorrow as I've run out of time today. I'll add a link in the comments section once that is done. Thanks again for the comment!
