Hi, cleaning alone will be a temporary fix. Hard to say how long. Could be weeks, months or years but each cleaning cuts it in half or worse.

I had the same problems with my Customatic and after taking it apart found oil or whatever it was on the contacts, clean it up with a Q-tip and some IPA good as new now. Thanks!

I used the link provided and ordered the repair kit. I’m tired of cleaning the contact every month o so. A new remote cost 200 to 300 dollars. I hope this kit resolves the issue. The kit cost 11.00 dollars. Thank you for the video.

No re-programming would be needed. As long as it's paired now it will remain that way.

My remote was filthy, it would only turn the light in and off. But after cleaning as you suggested, nothing works. No more lights on the remote at all. So sad..
