Fantastic video Nick really enjoyed watching that I've been tuning gas engines with EFI live for years and had a crack at diesel tuning on Colorados here in New Zealand. Great to see this video providing confirmation I was going in the right areas to make the tuning changes

Stoked to hear you have enjoyed it! What software are you using on the Colorados? I've only just started digging into it for them, Rangers and the D-Max (basically the main popular options down here) but there doesn't seem to be much commercial software wise to just pull off the shelf and use - Taz.

Hey. Really good knowledge and info in your videos. Im not a software tuner, but it makes me happy,that i understand most of the stuff you are talking about. Would love to see a M57 Bmw diesel car on that dyno tho,and you dynoing it. Like in EU we have 200kw 535D, would love to see your opinion and tuning style on it But keep up that good work !!!

Are there many tune options for small, older diesel engines such as the Isuzu 4jg2 3.1t with indirect injection from the early 90s?
@hpa1012 жыл бұрын
Depends more on the type of pump you have rather than the engine itself. Generally mechanical systems are the ones that have easy adjustability allowing for you to tune them, at a cost in other areas and noting there are different types of mechanical pumps with some having more adjustability than others. Sometimes when you start to go down this path, an engine swap (in your case probably a 4jj1 but I am not an Isuzu guy so don't quote me) becomes more economical to get the same or more power. No free lunch though, everything comes with compromises. Mechanical diesel pump tuning is not something we cover at this point in time sorry, we are strictly common rail - Taz.

Did you release part 3?
@Damajah12 жыл бұрын
why is the air/fuel ratio so rich?
@Damajah12 жыл бұрын
so you maxed out the mm3 without any extra air?
@sirseven32 жыл бұрын
More fuel more power, depending on the injector and turbo depends on what ratio you need for max power

The 9.5 AFR you're seeing on the screen isn't the actual AFR numbers. He mentions in the video that there isn't any sensor installed so the 9.5 is probably just a default reading
