How do you tell which sensor is 1-3 on a CAYC? I have a P2080 code (Exhaust gas temp sensor circuit bank1 range/Performance) and i was told it was the sensor pre dpf (the one you just replaced) so now i'm a bit confused........ I can only find 2 heat sensors in the dpf/exhaust which knowing this car makes me think the one i need to change is going to be in a bad place.

Surprisingly I have a 2013 passat tdi and this looks similar to my engine bay I have to change mine as well with the new one you installed what is the location of that sensor ?

It's at the back of the engine near the dpf. Just follow the cable down.

I'm getting a fault code 'exhaust gas temp bank 1 sensor 3 circuit low', it used to go away by restarting the car, but it's gotten way more frequent lately. So today I changed exactly this sensor, cleared the fault codes, and it took an hour of driving before it came back. May the issue be with the cables from the ECU? Or any other issue may cause this error?

Yes could be the wiring although it's not uncommon to buy a faulty sensor. Is the sensor oem?

Where is this same sensor located in a Golf MK7. Is it the brown or black sensor, as the brown is after and black is before?

So I unplugged the sensors with the computer plugged in so it would flash up a code for which sensor was disconnected.

@@Street_Fitter Thanks pal. Thought my diagnostics was wrong... I looked at live data and it showed 4 channels for sensors but physically I could only find one. I must have replaced the wrong sensor...... doh...

Flashes glow plug, sometimes you can see check engine. Nothing else, you can drive. I have same problem.

@@smutnychlopczyk2947there is a risk of FAP not re-generating if ECU know sensors are faulty. So I wouldn't drive too much like that (or at least don't do too much short distance travels)

Wrong sensor mate will burn out in no time there's two types of DPF for these cars as some DPS get hotter than others yours is like mine it gets very hot that is why there is a shield around the actual sensor get the part number off your old sensor is the best way they are not cheap mine was £120+vat

So I got that one directly from the parts supplier instead of just getting a random one off eBay was £130 Inc vat. Been in the car a couple months now so far ok but they have made mistakes in the past. If it burns out within the year I can always return it so I'll see what happens
