Heaven is the place where believers dwell with Jesus forever
Today, “The Millennium”
Zechariah 14:5 (NIV2011)
Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.
Key events of Jesus’ 2nd Coming:
- He returns to the Mount of Olives (Zech. 14:3-4, Acts 1:9-12)
- He defeats the Antichrist and his allies at Armageddon (Rev. 16:16, 19:19-21)
- He binds Satan for 1000 years (Rev. 20:1-4)
Revelation 20:1-4 (NIV2011)
1 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time. 4 I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Jesus will reign over the earth from Jerusalem for 1000 years
(Rev. 20:1-4, Isa. 24:21-23, Ezek. 37:26-28)
And we will reign with Him:

Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will also reign with him.

The Millennium will fulfill God’s promises

6 In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The LORD Our Righteous Savior.

The Millennium will redeem creation
People will enjoy longevity and health

Nature’s curse will be lifted

The world will experience unprecedented peace and prosperity

4 He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.

My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.

23 He will also send you rain for the seed you sow in the ground, and the food that comes from the land will be rich and plentiful.
The world will be joyful

18 “This is what the LORD says: “ ‘I will restore the fortunes of Jacob’s tents and have compassion on his dwellings; the city will be rebuilt on her ruins, and the palace will stand in its proper place. 19 From them will come songs of thanksgiving and the sound of rejoicing.

God is for your good
The Millennium will reveal the depravity of the human heart

Hey, sorry for that. Misread the initial query. The Bible indicates that we will not be like we currently are when we are in heaven. When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. Mark 12:25

Not all believers will reign with Christ. Only a small select few. That’s the race we are in. At the Judgement seat of Christ Christian’s will be judged and those who overcome will reign with him. Not all believers.

@@silasr20 That’s SDA belief. If only believer are in heaven what is the purpose of agent do by default them not making means they are condemned? The world will be brought back to life in the millennium and instructed in righteous. There is nothing in the Bible that suggests that the dead won’t be judged while they are deal. Rev 20:5 doesn’t exist in over 50% of manuscripts.

That wasn’t a future prophesy about the millennium but what would happen in Jeremiah’s day. CONTEXT You need to read the entire chapter. It’s about the disobedience of Israel, and what would happen to their cities. It’s not talking about a millennial reign.
