Hi, i've seen your entire video and i found it maravellous, although, i hace a question in my mind for some time ago If I need to upload a video to KZbin in Rec. 709, I can record in Rec. 709, do color grading in Rec. 709, but in the 3D application I have to use and in which I will be recording, I only have the option to choose from the following color spaces: sRGB, DCI-P3, Display P3, Rec. 2020, and Adobe RGB. Which one should I use in the 3D application?

The calculations that you did at 18:30 (dividing everything by 255) were probably not necessary as these values already show at 10:56 when the sRGB values are shown. Basically, the correct color values in sRGB and P3 are both 0.8823, 0.145, and 1. So it's probably best to ignore the HEX code but just to look at the RGB numbers, because they are exactly the same for P3 and sRGB

I watched this video twice but maybe I missed sth . My Macbook pro 13 M2 has color dilsay options as follows : Display P3 and sRGBIEC61966-2.1. When I switch between these color display optons, sRGB is always MORE SATURATED no matter I am loking colors on safar, chrome or just a picture on my computer. How is it possible that viewing images on my macbook that SUPPORTS P3, colors are more saturated for sRGB? sorry if you covered this and I missed.

That setting in the camera has nothing to do with P3

​​@@DesignPilot The description literally says: "Use Display P3 color format instead of SRGB for richer and more vibrant colors. Display P3 may not be visible before the photo is taken or supported on all platforms or apps." This is a settings option on my pixel 8a. 🤷🏽‍♂️

@KaShMoNeY1786 Interesting. In that case the phone has P3 set to default I guess. The camera setting would just be for getting photos in P3 colors. A P3 phone can generate sRGB or P3 colors. A sRGB phone cannot produce P3 colors.

No, it was set to srgb by default. I changed it to p3. I am wondering what that means for my camera photos when sharing with a p3 compatible device or operating system? *Edit basically, i assume the pixel 8a is capable of p3 color gamut, even if my display is not. Will this make my Pixel 8a photos better if shared with an Iphone user, or will it change how I see my photos on my Android device?

It’s not just the monitor. It’s the laptop too that matters. But of course P3 is recommended and most monitors have P3. Honeslty at the end of the day it doesn’t make that much of a difference when you’re designing screens.

Summary: In P3 displays, more colors are introduced so the hex you code in is not the hex thats is displayed. Use sRGB color setting in Figma to make sure that doesnt happen ?

If you’re 100% picky on how the colors look on web and good quality screens, then yes. Usually it’s not a big deal. But some cases it matters to designers
